Nancy was looking for her Biology textbook in her locker. She lets out a frustrated sigh once she realizes that it's not in there. She couldn't remember where she last placed it. It wasn't at home and now it wasn't at school.

"Looking for this?"

Nancy turns to her right and lets out a huge sigh of relief when she sees that Jessica was holding her Biology textbook in her hand. "Yes! Thank you so much!" Nancy exclaims as Jessica hands the textbook to her. "You are a lifesaver," Nancy tells Jessica as she takes it from her and closes her locker. She then holds the book against her chest like it was her lifeline.

Jessica adjusts her backpack over her shoulder and rolls her eyes at Nancy's exclamation. "Oh please. I am hardly a lifesaver." Nancy shakes her head. "In my case, you are. If I didn't show up to our Chemistry class with my textbook today, Mr. Kaminsky would have my head."

Jessica ponders in thought and shakes her head. "No I don't think he would have your head. He would actually lower your letter grade down." Nancy's eyes widen and Jessica laughs at her friend's facial expression.

A foot away on the other side of the lockers, Steve freezes as he hears the familiar laughter from the first day of school. He turns his body slightly as his eyes scan the hallway for the source. They stop on a pair of girls that are chatting by the lockers.
