~October 28th, 1983~
Steve opens the door to Hawkins High School and walks in, his backpack on his shoulder and in his hand was his breakfast. As he struts down the hall, students parted like the red sea as they moved off to the side and gawked at him as he walks pass them.
He only had one mission this morning and that was to ask Jessica Henderson a very important question. He spots her over at her locker. She closes her door before looking over at his direction and smiles.
"Good morning Harrington," she greets Steve as he leans against the locker next to hers. "Good morning Henderson." "What do you have there?" Jessica points at the bag that he was holding in his left hand.
"Oh, it's just my breakfast," he tells her opening the bag up and pulling out a bagel. "It's a sesame bagel with bacon, egg and cheese on it." Jessica looks the bagel over. "Sounds...interesting," she tells him as Steve nods, tearing off a piece. "It's delicious. You must try it," he tells her as he holds out a piece for her. Jessica takes it. "I hate to break it to you but if you don't like it, we can't keep talking to each other."
"We can't have that now, can we?" Jessica asks Steve who shakes his head. "Which is why there's a lot at stake here. No pressure." "No pressure whatsoever," she tells him as she plops the piece into her mouth. "Hmm-hmm," Jessica hums in satisfaction, making Steve smile.
