Ishita's POV:

"What do you want me to do run on the streets claiming that my father is innocent?" I passed back the black folder which contained a movie script for me to say it in court. "Ishita... try to understand... he's trying to improve his mistake..." mom moved forward blocking my way. "And I'm trying to keep myself away from mistakes. You don't know how hard it is for me to sit in a rusted coat knowing that my father has killed someone to take over the partnership but still because that murderer is my father. I cannot utter the word murderer in court." I was exasperated trying to prove my point.

Ritika commented, "You just did... two times..." I narrowed my eyes at her and she instantly shuts up. Raj Kund walked inside sitting in the seat next to my mom and Amir with his associates. "You know what you have to say..." Amir mentioned as the people gathered inside the court waiting for the judge's arrival. "Keep me the hell away from this case I don't want to get involved in it..." he raised his eyes at me, "So you didn't... Ishita... don't be crazy... Geetanjali Arora could be present in the court which clearly means they will get you involved in this case so a better way is to come out clear rather than avoiding it." My eyes widen in shock at the name he mentioned.

"What do you mean? Why is Kabir's mother's appearance needed in this case?" before he could answer it the judge walked inside with two guards following him. We all stood up in respect and seated down followed by him. My palms got sweaty as I prepared to go to the dock for my testimony. Stepping inside I asked for a tissue and cleared the seat before sitting on it. The male judge gives me a look of uncertainty, "Are you done spit shining the seats?" With a tight smile, I replied, "Sorry sir but I'm allergic to dust so it's better to be prepared than sneezing in the courtroom infecting others." He cleared his throat and asked for an oath.

The opponent's female lawyer questioned me in the dork, "Miss Ishita... I would like to know your opinion on your father." With a sigh, I replied, "He's a very considerate man and puts people's opinions before him, and has a good reputation in his business. I have learned a lot from him beside a father he has been my mentor." That creepy lawyer gave me a look then uttered, "Good reputation... well I won't agree with that because his past employees mentioned about his harsh behavior towards women. He even bought small businesses to perish them from the competitive market. Do you consider that as a good characteristic because you also have one like that?"

I shrugged, "Well I would neither accept nor deny that some steps can feel harsh to others but at the end of the day it's all business." Raj gave me an impressive look while his lawyer took a deep breath because I handled the question pretty well than I expected myself to do. The opponent's lawyer asked further, "What about incidents where he breaks the law or pays the police, or politicians to change their verdicts?" I glimpsed at him and replied, "I can neither confirm nor deny that..." she fired another question, "Are you aware that your father hired Amir as his lawyer to conceal the death of your best friend under your roof?"

The crowd gasped in shock and I was shaken a bit as well, "We... I... the police investigated and then piled up the case as it was an accident." She approached me, "If you are capable to turn a murder into an accident then should we consider that your father could attempt a murder." I looked around for help because I couldn't answer it. Amir stood up, "Objection your honor... relevance." She turned towards him and announced, "of course, it has... how would you consider a person's mentality unless you know with what kind of people they are surrounded by? Mr. Mehra's historical morals and laws are crucial to understanding his capacity for murder" the judge commented, "Overruled" I glimpsed at Amir he gestured to be calm.

"So, you do agree that we can consider both of you on the same page..." l nodded my head and replied, "Yes...". She smirked and mentioned, "No more questions you're honor." Amir massaged his forehead and Raj murmured something in his ears. He looked up at me and then nodded to whatever he said, by now my blood pressure was low with cold sweats. Amir cleared his throat and approached, "Would you say that you have personal issues with your father after he tried to divide his assets between you and his loyal employee Vikram..."
