Chapter 21

Matthew's POV

Maybe you're curious of why I wanted to have a talk with Esther. It's because it's really important for her to know that I like her since the moment I saw her on my way to the cafe. Her face looks like an angel shining brightly on that moonlit night. I know that it's a lame excuse saying that I don't know the way to my own shop. But she was walking alone at that time towards that tunnel seemingly to go home where the post lamps are broken. And having walked there before, I know that it can be real dark in that area. That's why I intentionally followed her that night and I was careful with my steps. Unfortunately, it seems that I frightened her that night because she suddenly ran and then fell flat on the ground.

To be honest I just admired her at first but the moment I got to know her, my feelings for her deepened every time we meet and have a talk. It hurts my heart sometimes when he treat me as an her older brother. That's why I ask her to stop calling me Kuya. At those moments, I tried to stop my feelings for her and surrender it to God. I even distanced myself from her by focusing on my work but my love for her didn't go away.

I already talked to God about this a thousand times and it took me almost a year to make sure that my feelings and intentions are pure. After I made sure it was all good and from God, I made up my mind and decided it's time to confess to her. I composed myself and prayed before asking her,
"Esther, can we talk?"

At first she didn't answer me. But it wasn't long before she gave me a nod.

"Come with me."

Esther's Pov

Sumunod lang ako kay Kuya Matthew kahit di ko alam kung saan niya ako dadalhin. Tumingin-tingin din ako sa paligid para hanapin Sina Billie at kuya Paul pero Hindi ko Naman Sila nakita. Nasaan Naman kaya Yung dalawang Yun? Don't tell me..nagdate Sila?!

Hays.. Nevermind. Lakad kami nang lakad Hanggang sa makarating kami sa parang garden na part ng restaurant. Ay bongga! May ganito pala dito? Ang sosyal naman. Baka may round two ng pakain itong si Kuya Matthew! Hahaha Grabe makakain ah Esther? Walang bukas, ses? 

Natigil ako sa mga pinag-iisip ko ng makarating kami sa parang mini stage ng garden. May pagka romantic ang scenery kasi may mga palamuting hugis puso. Huh… Ang aga Naman nilang mag Valentines. Magpapasko palang eh. Haha

"Bessyyyy!" Rinig Kong sigaw ni Billie. Nandito Pala Siya?

"Oy, andito ka lang palang babae ka. Kala ko iniwan mo na ko." Kunwaring pagtatampo ko.

"Hindi noh. May inasikaso lang kami ni Paul. Tara dito tayo."

"Teka nasan na si Kuya Matthew?"
Tanong ko. Bigla kasi siyang nawala.

"Ayon oh! " Turo niya kay Kuya Matthew na may dalang bulaklak habang papalapit ito sa amin.

As he walk, he has this handsome smile about him. Gosh, sakin ba Siya nakatingin? Eh baka naman guni-guni ko na naman to. Minsan lang kasi ngumingiti itong si Kuya Matt. Napatingin tuloy ako sa likuran ko. Baka kasi nasa likod Yung nginingitian niya. Pero pagtinging ko, wala namang tao ron. Tapos si Billie, nagsimula nang manghampas sa braso ko na parang kinikilig.

"Bes, anyare Sayo?" Tanong ko sa Kanya pero biglang nagsalita so Kuya Matt.

"Esther." Aniya sabay abot sakin Ng flowers.

Tiningnan ko naman yun na may halong kaba at pagkalito. "Teka, para sakin to Kuya? Anong okasyon ba ngayon?" Takang tanong ko. Next month pa Kasi Ang birthday ko. Ano to? Advance?

"Yes. This is for you." Aniya kaya kinuha ko na Ang bulaklak. "Esther, I know you that you might have been confused with my actions right now. But please, hear me out until matapos ako."
