Never Ending Cycle

Lisa was seated on a bench in the park, she was looking straight ahead as someone seated next to her started to talk to her.

Jisoo: Excuse me- I couldn't help but wonder and I'm sorry if this sounds rude, are you pregnant?

Lisa's eyes widened as she turned to the woman next to her, she smiled and nodded.

Lisa: Yes I am.

Jisoo's eyes widened as she smiled, she couldn't help but ask the stranger next to her.

Jisoo: Wow, that's amazing. How far along are you?

Lisa continued to smile.

Lisa: I'm 7 months in.

Jisoo couldn't contain her happiness for the stranger, she clapped softly.

Jisoo: Wow! You're due in 2 months, that's so exciting!

Jisoo then switched to a concerned look and looked at Lisa.

Jisoo: But wait, where's your husband? You shouldn't be out here all on your own, miss.

Jisoo says as she looks around hoping to see a sign of anyone who may be with the woman seated next to her.

Lisa sadly smiled as she looked down and rubbed her stomach a bit she then looked at Jisoo.

Lisa: I actually have a wife.

Jisoo's eyes widened once again as she looked to Lisa's direction.

Jisoo: Oh, a wife? That's amazing, she must be wonderful, but why isn't she here with you?

Lisa continues to smile sadly and sighs softly.

Lisa: Well, she is very sick right now, she is here but not here at the same time, I'm sorry if that's confusing, but this place– this park means a lot to us and this is where I met her for the first time.

Lisa says as she turns to look at Jisoo, sadness written all over her face.

Jisoo: Oh– I'm sorry to hear that, I didn't mean to make you sad, if I may ask what happe—

As Jisoo was about to finish her sentence she was interrupted by a phone ringing, Lisa picks up her phone and looks at the screen as it says "Time to go home" on it. Lisa smiles sadly as she slowly gets up, she reaches her hand out to Jisoo's direction.

Lisa: Let's go, honey. We need to go home now.

Jisoo is confused.

Jisoo: H-Honey?

She watches as Lisa nods, she stares into Lisa's eyes as they are filled with sadness yet also happiness and love. Jisoo freezes and thinks to herself, but then it clicks in the end. The one Lisa was talking about is her.

As they walked home, hand in hand. Jisoo feels all sorts of things as for Lisa, she feels happy yet sad knowing this moment will be temporary, it always happens, but Lisa is content. She loves Jisoo and she knows Jisoo loves her.

Lisa looks at Jisoo.

Lisa: I love you.

Jisoo then looks at Lisa, she feels her heart racing.

Jisoo: I-I love you too.

Lisa tears up and so does Jisoo. Lisa hugs Jisoo tightly and Jisoo hugs back gently. "Temporary moments really hurt, Jisoo, but I know you're suffering more than me. Brain trauma, fuck you" Lisa thinks to herself.
