FIFTY-TWO

LUCIA sat in her study hall period with Miguel and Eli while she worked on her Pre-Calculus homework.

"So you joined Miyagi-Do?" Miguel asked.

"Yeah. I did. Sorry, man." Eli apologized.

"Nah, don't worry about it. If it fits you, then it fits you." Miguel replied with a smile.

"Thanks, man." Eli replied.

"Lucia came back to Eagle Fang." Miguel smiled.

"Well, the Eagle Princess couldn't leave her fellow eagles hanging." Lucia said.

"True."

"Pst. Lucy." A voice whispered.

Lucia jumped. There was only one person who used that nickname.

She turned around and saw none other than Tory standing in the doorway.

Tory motioned for her to come out of the classroom, but Lucia just shook her head.

Tory poked her head into the classroom and saw that Ms. Blatt was distracted, so she shuffled into the classroom.

Eli pushed his chair back.

"What the hell is she doing here?" Eli asked and put his fists up.

"Relax, I'm just here to talk to Lucy." Tory answered.

"You don't deserve to talk to her." Eli spat.

"Will you shut up? You're going to get me caught. Lucia let's go."

"I don't think she wants to talk to you." Miguel said.

"I'm not asking again, Lucia, let's go." Tory said with her teeth clenched.

Lucia sighed and stood up. "Fine. But after this, do not ever talk to me again!"

"Don't worry. I won't."

Lucia looked up and saw that Ms. Blatt was about to turn around.

"Go out there. I have a plan."

Tory left the room swiftly and Lucia walked up to Ms. Blatt.

"Um, Ms. Blatt. Can I use the bathroom?" Lucia asked.

"May you use the bathroom?" She corrected.

"Yeah, uh, may I use the bathroom."

"Thank you. When Piper gets back." Ms. Blatt replied.

"Please, Ms. Blatt. It's...a women's problem..." Lucia whispered.

"Oh. Well then of course, please do." Ms. Blatt smiled awkwardly.

"Thank you!"

Lucia then rushed out of the room.

Tory grabbed her arm and pulled her to an empty classroom.

"Look, Lucy, I...I want to apologize. I want to apologize for hurting you. I...I didn't know you were going to be there with Hawk, I just thought he was going to be alone, but you were there and you know...no mercy. Which isn't an excuse, but it's the truth. I'm not good with this apology, feelings type stuff, you know this, but...I still love you too and I will always love you. But obviously we can't be together. You're with Moon and you're in Eagle Fang. But I'm truly sorry and I won't come near you again until the tournament. I'll pretend you won't exist. That's all I had to say, so I'm gonna go."

Tory began walking away, but Lucia grabbed her arm and spun her back around.

"What're you doing?" Tory asked.

Lucia looked her in her eyes, then reached up and kissed her hardly.

Tory was shocked, but kissed back.

They slowly pulled away and Lucia stared into her eyes.

"Thank you." She muttered before going back to study hall.

Tory swallowed and went back to class.

What would Moon think?

Moon opened her front door to see Tory standing there.

"Oh, um. Hi." Moon greeted.

"Hey. Do you mind if I come in. It won't be long."

"Of course. We can go up to my room really fast."

Tory nodded and she followed Moon upstairs to her bedroom.

Moon closed the door behind them and they both sat down on the bed.

"So, do you need something. Do you want help with something?" Moon asked.

"Oh, no. I just came to tell you that I apologized to Lucy. She took it well. And..." Tory trailed off.

"And?" Moon raised her eyebrows.

Tory didn't say anything and Moon had suddenly realized.

"You guys kissed, didn't you?" Moon asked.

Tory nodded. "Yeah."

Moon nodded back. "I think she needed that."

"You're not mad?"

"No. I didn't think it was gonna happen, but no I'm not mad." Moon answered.

"Good."

Tory shook her head.

"I don't know why I care. I shouldn't care what you think."

"It's okay. I care about what you're feeling."

Tory looked up at her.

"Is that why you hugged me the other day?" Tory asked.

"Yeah." Moon answered.

There was a silence between the girls until they both started to lean in.

Moon's eyes fluttered closed and Tory connected their lips.

They kissed each other softly until Moon turned it into a make out.

Tory pushed Moon down on the bed and got on top of her.

Moon pulled away for a moment.

"Should we be doing this?" Moon asked.

Tory shook her head.

"I don't care."

She kissed her again and they continued.
