Kiara pov: "Mumei, Reine, let's have a race!" I said
"Why?" They both asked in unison.
"Last one to Lui-nee is a rotten egg!" I said
"Do we lay those?" Reine said
"No, we don't!" I said
"Ehhhh, we don't." Reine said in shock.
"Nope!" I shouted
"But we are birds," Reine stated.
"But we are also girls!" I said
"Which side takes more precedence?" Reine asked
"Does this really matter?" Mumei asked
"No, but I will win the race!" I cheerfully stated
"Why do you want to race?" Mumei asked, unamused by all of this.
"It'll be fun; you can miss it, but you'll be a chicken," I said.
"The only chicken here is you..." Mumei said
"Nope, that's you!" I laughed
"You are so lucky, you're endearing...." Mumei scoffed
"How about bringing a newbie to the computer room to listen to Ollie talk?" Mumei said.
"That isn't so bad," Reine said.
"You didn't let me finish; you have to listen to her talk about charging rifles for three hours," Mumei said.
"That is torture!" Reine and I shouted
"Well then don't lose!" Mumei laughed
She shifted into bird form and flew off. She was enhanced by Omega, so she was inhumanly fast even in her owl form.
"Wait, Kiara, I can't fly!" Reine said
"Well, that isn't my problem!" I said
"Come on, make it fair!" Reine cried
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes please!" Reine whined
"Okay, I'll run, but only for a bit." I said
"Thank you!" Reine said
"No problem," I sighed.
We began to run as we raced. Reine was somehow faster than me despite being weaker than me.
"I will not listen to Ollie talk for three hours!" I yelled
"You will, and you'll be the rotten egg!" Reine laughed
"You know I can fly and beat you, right?" I asked
"But you have honor!" Reine stated
"Tsk, you caught me!" I sighed
I wasn't planning on flying. I want to keep this fair and square, but if I'm going to lose, I will resort to this Reine, who is used to hearing Ollie's voice, while I am not going to lose here.
"This hallway is so long!" Reine said while panting a bit.
"That's it! Talk more and waste your energy!" I stated
"Believe me, I have a lot of stamina!" Reine laughed
"So do I!" I yelled
"No, you don't!" Reine said
"Calli says I have a lot of stamina!" I said
"Prove it!" Reine said
"Do you want to see Calli and my bedroom activities?" I asked
"Really!?" Reine said sarcastically.
"Eh!?" I said it in shock.
"Of course I don't want to see it!" Reine yelled
"I could show you though," I giggled.
"No..." Reine said
I took this chance to run ahead of Reine, who had slowed down a bit. She was pacing herself, which was smart. I was going to go back to that as soon as I was at a safe distance.
"I won't let you get ahead of me!" Reine yelled
She had a burst of energy and ran past me at full speed.
"Damn it!" I yelled
Reine got a good distance ahead, so I bit my lip, shifting into a phenoix and flying, so I caught up to her. I shifted back and used that momentum to overtake her.
"You flew!" Reine said
"Yeah, and that was only to overtake you!" I said
"I'll allow it," Reine
"I didn't ask..." I stated
Reine looked at me before shifting into a peacock and overtaking me.
"You are annoying!" I yelled, dashing as fast as I could, catching up to her and overtaking her.
There were robots ahead of us. Reine turned back to human form, and we both plowed through the machines. We soon figured out that Mumei left those there for us.
She clearly wanted us to be slowed down, probably to see if we could get past, which we did easily.
"I won't lose!" Reine stated that as she did a long jump across the hall, I did the same, matching her in speed and height.
"You will lose because I'm not!" I stated
"Yes, you are!" Reine said
Mumei flew back and glared at us.
"You two are about half way," Mumei giggled.
"Why is this hall so long?" I asked
"I don't know. Ask Lui-nee," Mumei said.
"Maybe I will..." I panted as I stopped to breathe.
Reine stopped and looked at me, waiting for me to stand back up. I was shocked to see she wasn't even tired at all-not even a drop of sweat was on her.
"You are so fit..." I wheezed
"Yup, I trained!" Reine said
"I trained and got a buff with radiation!" I said
"I'm still faster," Reine said.
"Who cares? I didn't ask," I said.
"Well, you two have fun," Mumei said as she began to fly off Reine, and I grabbed onto Mumei, letting her drag us.
She quickly kicked us off, but we used this for speed; we ran as fast as we could as endgame got in sight.
"Goal!!" We both yelled as we passed the finish line made by Mumei.
"Who won?" I asked.
"Yeah, Mumei, who won!?" Reine asked
"I think... I won," Mumei said.
"Yes, we know!" Reine and I said
"Okay, but in all seriousness, Kiara won," Mumei said.
"What!?" Reine said in shock.
"Yeah, Kiara's toe got past the line just barely," Mumei said.
"Wait, Reine, weren't you with Ollie?" I asked
"Yeah why?" Reine asked
"Why are you here now?" I asked
"I changed my mind," Reine stated.
"You can't be serious." I said
"I'm not actually Ollie who told me to catch up," Reine said.
"She didn't want you to worry." I said
"Pretty much," Reine stated.
Ollie is very considerate. I thought to myself as we continued down the hall.
I smiled as I saw Lui-nee; she was with Koyori, and she waved when she saw us.
But I felt like this was a trap.
