Panic-stricken, Draco looked around the battlefield. Dead bodies of friend and foe lay everywhere. Most of them could no longer be assigned to a particular side.

White magic spells could be just as cruel as black magic ones.

Too late, he saw a curse flying towards him and could not block it in time as a Protego deflected the bright green beam.

He looked to the side and saw his father running towards him with his hair blowing behind him. He quickly conjured a protective circle around themselves before pulling his son into a tight embrace.
Hesitantly, Draco wrapped his arms around him.

"I'm sorry for what I said," Lucius whispered softly, "Of course you're normal. I couldn't ask for a better son and no, you are definitely not disinherited. I think I was very rattled. I hope you can forgive me, my son."

Draco smiled and sighed in relief. There had been an uncomfortable tension between Draco and his father ever since he and Severus had been dating.

"I thank you, Father, but I'm looking for Severus right now. Have you seen him anywhere?"

Instantly all colour drained from the elder Malfoy's face. He swallowed.

"Dad?" he asked anxiously, not really wanting to know the answer.
"He's in the Shrieking Shack."

Eyes wide, Draco released the spell and stormed off towards the secret passage.
His father followed him quickly, calming the Whomping Willow.

As soon as they arrived in the old building, both Malfoys had to suppress a sound of pain.

The whole interior, the floor, the walls, everything was stained with blood and in the middle of the pool lay the missed Potions Master.

Immediately Draco rushed to him and laid Severus' head on his lap.

"Baby, I know you can hear me. And I know you well enough to know you have something for the pain and the poison. Tell me where it is. Come on, honey, I believe in you."

When no answer came, Draco's dam broke. Unstoppable rivulets of tears flowed down his pale cheeks and dripped onto the, still, warm body.

Softly whispered words gave him pause. "Inn.....Inner...Innerpocket," Severus gasped strained. His voice raspy from all the blood.

A relieved sound left Lucius' lips as Draco frantically searched for the antidote. Suddenly he felt two small vials. Finally.

"Okay," ,Draco spoke softly. "I need you to be strong one more time. Can you do it? Yes, do it for me, darling."

Trembling, Severus opened his mouth and swallowed both contents with difficulty. Instantly, life seemed to come back to the Potion Master. Coughing, he straightened up and rested his upper body against Draco's.

The latter stroked the now closed wounds and gave him a small kiss on the temple.

"Oh by Merlin! You're alive."

Draco smiled at Severus' words and then looked at his father, who remained in the background.

Lucius cleared his throat briefly before crouching down.
Wordlessly, he leaned his forehead against his teacher's and closed his eyes.

"Thank you, my old friend. And please take care of my son. I don't want him to get hurt again."

Astonished, Severus looked into the Malfoy's face, then his gaze wandered to his lover, who only nodded with a smile.

"I promise.
