In the evening...
We found a suitable place to sleep. We dismounted the horses and ponies, and the dwarves prepared a fireplace and then started cooking dinner. The night watch was commanded by Fili and Kili.
I took the brush and Feon had his mane combed before I braided his mane.
"Here's your soup," Thorin spoke up and handed it to me, which I thanked him for since he didn't have to do that. Feon was curious and interested in our food - he got a succulent meal from me and then enjoyed the green grass, so he certainly wasn't starving.
The elves hardly had to sleep at all, so I planned to stay awake at night as well in case something really happened. A winged horse also served as my eyes and ears. After the meal, everyone found their sleeping place and slowly drifted off to sleep.
I watched the sky and tried, by the time the night was deep, to ignore the snoring of Bombur.
Fili and Kili teased the hobbit about the presence of orcs, for which Thorin subsequently scolded them because he hated them.
At one point, my ears registered movement on the other side of the ravine, causing me to draw my bow, take aim, and fire. The arrow landed on a hard rock and the creature moving there scurried away.
"What did you see?" Thorin asked, appearing a short distance away, looking in the same direction, trying to see something more through the fog, but failing.
"I heard unexpected movement, so I fired a warning shot just in case. It's gone now," I informed them.
Nothing unusual happened for the rest of the night.
