I said goodbye to the dwarves as I had no plans to stay. I wanted to see my brother home and Bilbo, who had grown on me. Gandalf accompanied the hobbit as well.

Thorin gave me one of the beautiful rings the dwarves had made as a gift. I had to promise to return because Kili planned to seal her relationship with Tauriel with a marriage and I didn't want to be absent. I also said goodbye to Bard and his family before we could leave.

"Did you have something with the dwarf?" Thranduil asked.

"Hey! I don't discuss relationships with you either, and wait... you don't have one," I teased.

Our journey to his kingdom was in a similar vein, teasing each other, making fun of each other, or discussing interesting topics before I joined a quieter journey with Gandalf and Bilbo. We told each other various stories we had experienced before leaving him to walk to the Hobbiton alone.

"One battle has been won," Gandalf began.

"The biggest one of this age is coming up," I added.
