Dáin's army took up an offensive position and after a while, Thranduil sent his soldiers into battle. I drew my sword, which glowed blue, and my horse ran at the orcs. I also used some spells before joining my brother as many enemies appeared around him.

Azog the Defiler planned to cut us off in the city where the second front of his army was heading. So the bard and his men quickly headed back, and my brother and I followed him.

The walls of the Dale had been breached, and an army of Orcs was charging in. One of the larger orcs knocked my brother off his elk, leaving him to fight on his own two feet. I joined him. We fought in sync, knowing what the other could do, so before long there were no enemies around us for a while. We could then remount our animals and continue the fight.

The dwarves began to retreat towards Erebor before the deep sound of a hunting horn began to carry across the landscape. To my surprise, Thorin charged into battle and the army began to follow their king.

I was helping people who were not protected by my magic. I managed to get to Gandalf and Bilbo when Legolas appeared with us, as well as Tauriel.

He told us that Bolg and his army from Gundabad were approaching us. Luring Thorin and his best men to Raven Hill was, as it turned out, Azog's plan all along.
