Summary:
Ingo stumbles home in a tattered coat, with fractured memories and six new Pokemon on his belt. He quickly realizes that no one even noticed that he was gone. While he spent a full year in Hisui, it seems that no time has passed here at all.

Emmet is worried. Ever since his brother went on that trip to the store, but came back looking strangely bedraggled, he’s been acting very different. He’s been unsure of himself, forgetful, and quieter than he used to be. He gives Emmet desperate and worried looks.

Something happened to Ingo.

Emmet’s not sure what it is, but he plans to find out what.

Chapter 1: A Year in Stasis
Chapter Text
It had all been some kind of mistake.

That’s what Arceus had told him (in a booming voice that seemed to resonate within his very soul). That his even existing in Hisui was some kind of mistake. Akari had been sent back by Arceus for the purpose of completing a mission, but Ingo had been sent by Dialga mistakenly. Apparently, the legendary had been caught up in a terrible frenzy. Maybe that’s why his memories were so much more shredded than Akari’s, who had been recovering hers in record time once the rift was closed.

Was it his turn to remember now?

Thou were not meant to be separated from thy twin, the telepathic voice said. It was a tearing of things never meant to be torn. But the tapestry can yet be stitched.

The voice was overwhelming, and there was so much light everywhere, that it seared through his eyelids even when his eyes were closed. Ingo needed to hear more, to know more, but he couldn’t help but curl into himself involuntarily at the incredible amount of stimuli.

Thou shall be returned to thy rightful place, the voice continued.

Rightful place. That meant…

“Are you sending me back?” Ingo rasped.

That… he didn’t know how to feel about that. He felt a strange yearning for what he had lost, the strange man in white who resembled him, for his pokemon partner with the ghostly flames. He needed to know more.

And yet he would be leaving everyone he knew behind. Irida, the other wardens, his new pokemon team… Lady Sneasler… and if they were all gone, along with his memories of his past home, then he would truly have nothing.

He was not sure he could bear to have nothing. Not again.

Thou shalt not have nothing, the voice said, now meant to reassure. Your mind was harshly affected by your travels, but my power can assist in the process of mind-healing. Be not afraid.
