Upon arriving at the party, my hope for a quiet moment with my family was dashed when one of my bothersome batchmates pounced on me.

Settling next to Hyejin, I found her complimenting my appearance while inquiring about my tardiness. As I scanned the room, I caught a smile from my mom and glimpsed my brother who was relentless in his teasing due to my belated arrival.

Taking a sip of my wine, one of the girls from my batch chimed in, "Gangwon Province is quite a distance. How come you're late again?" Her gaze was critical as she observed me, prompting my eyebrows to rise in response.

"I had my reasons," I retorted, the sarcasm evident in my voice. Hyejin struggled to contain her laughter, her gaze shifting downward to avoid drawing attention.

As if determined to test my patience, another girl piped up, "Gosh, [name] used to be so punctual. They even nicknamed her Cinderella."

A smirk formed on my lips, and I couldn't help but reply, "I've never been a maid, and as far as I know, I don't fit the mold of any Disney princess. I'm the princess of my own story." My words were accompanied by a confident smile that seemed to take them by surprise.

Hyejin jumped in, adding fuel to the fire with a playful twist, "Don't forget, this girl right in front of us is the Lee princess." A soft chuckle escaped me, and we exchanged a covert high-five beneath the table.

It was our way of privately roasting these snooty girls who seemed to take pleasure in critiquing others. In this battle of wits, I was determined not to back down.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded, my annoyance evident in my tone. He looked at me, furrowing his brows in response, and then his gaze shifted downward, his eyes falling on my exposed skin. "Where's your blazer?" he asked, his voice carrying a mix of concern and reproach.

I let out an exasperated groan, feeling my irritation deepen. "I left it at the party," I grumbled. Not one to be left out of the conversation, I shot back, "And you? What are you doing here?"

He let out a scoff, clearly equally displeased. "I left my phone in your car," he replied curtly, his expression etched with a touch of grumpiness.

Despite his irritable demeanor, I couldn't help but stress the point. "Still, you shouldn't have come here. What if someone sees us?" I chided, a sense of urgency in my voice.

Grabbing his wrist without further ado, I started to walk away, attempting to guide him out of the potentially compromising situation.

Unbeknownst to us, our encounter had not gone unnoticed. In the shadows, someone had managed to snap a picture of the two of us. Ignoring Chief Hong's dismissive comment about overreacting,
