"Dr Grey. There's no one who ordered a bag of blood." The lawyer crossed her arms

"So now what? You think I stole a bag of blood and gave it to the patient?" Meredith scoffed

"Doctor Murphy stated she hasn't been inside unsupervised. And since there was a lack of camera footage due to a fault in the systems of the camera footage.." The lawyer started making assumptions

"For real?" Meredith raised her voice, Derek grabbed her hand and squeezed in in a try to keep her calm

"I'm not saying you did this. I'm just saying Doctor Murphy and the nurse were inside at the same time." The lawyer repeated

"I can barely even reach the pole to change those bags. I only check what comes inside." Meredith said full of disappointment. "Did you know they were not made to reach from a sitting position?"

"Hmm.." The woman started to indeed doubt it all

"Why am I here then?" Derek asked

"Dr Murphy is your resident." She started

"She is, indeed." Derek nodded

"But you wanted to fire her. Several times." She looked inside her notebook

"Yes indeed. She showed very unreasonable behavior. She insulted someone about their disability and showed bad cooperativity towards co-workers." Derek stated

"She insulted your wife." The lawyer looked up

"She insulted Dr Grey because of her wheelchair and her paralysis, yes." Derek agreed

"Dr Grey, how did you react?" The lawyer asked

"I left the situation. Afterwards we talked. We all gave her a second chance and gave her some cases to work on her manners towards patients and people in rehab." Meredith answered. "As a neurosurgeon you can't see a spinal cord injury as some infectious disease that ends your life."

"But you're a general surgeon. Is it on you to decide that?"

"Yes. We're all one team. Many cases have neuro and general mixed. And as a wheelchair user I can prove my life didn't end when I lost sensation in my legs." She said clearly

"I read that you started in neuro..." The lawyer said

"Yes but I really don't see the point. Murphy was badly mannered and now she is getting a second chance." Meredith said sternly, really annoyed by people who think like this

"We found something." Richard hurried inside, needing to catch his breath, causing Meredith, Derek and the lawyer to look up. "The bag is registered under another patient. So someone did this intentionally." Richard told them

"What patient?" Derek asked, hoping that'd clear up who was responsible for this

"James Perry. Anyone you know?" Richard looked up from the tablet

"My patient." Meredith nodded with a frown. "We had to give him even more blood because it didn't seem to work." She muttered. "Ortho, neuro and general were involved." Meredith said, she couldn't believe this

"Okay. We'll page your co-workers. You can leave, we'll page you when we need you." The lawyer stated

"I'm sorry Meredith." Richard rubbed her back softly

Meredith nodded and unlocked her brakes, wanting to leave this room as soon as possible. She felt like she had to throw up and it had nothing to do with the little creature growing inside her belly but with stress

"Let's go." Derek started to push her out of the room and to her office, he knew her body language. He knew she wasn't doing okay. He hurried to her bathroom that was accessible for her. She took control and wheeled up to the toilet, starting to throw up. "Oh Meredith-" He rubbed his hand over her upper back

"I'm scared." Meredith anxiously admitted

"I know you are. But we'll prove that you have nothing to do with it." Derek kissed her head. "I have no idea who's doing this."

"You think someone made a mistake?" Meredith looked into her husband's eyes

"I don't know." Derek shook his head

"I-" Meredith gasped but threw up again

...

The next hour was very rough on them. Derek eventually made her eat something and have her some juice. They were cuddled up onto the couch until they got paged 911 back to the conference room

"The family just started a lawsuit." The lawyer's phone went off and read it out loud once Meredith and Derek entered the room, not even giving them time to sit down

"Oh god-" Meredith's hand flew to her chest. "I-I'm responsible." She looked at Derek

"What does this mean?" Derek asked the lawyer

"That Dr Grey can lose her license. And a possible jail sentence." The lawyer stared at Meredith and her wheelchair

"Oh-" Meredith gasped

"That won't happen. We'll clear this up." Derek stated sternly
