Derek was rubbing Meredith's back as they were laying on the sofa bed as she had been suffering from waiting so many hours until Derek's phone started ringing

"The baby is born, Derek. You have to come see him." He heard his father say

"Coming." Derek smiled and hung up

"You can go, I'll stay with Emma. Please tell them I'm sorry." Meredith said

"You sure you don't wanna come? I can page Alex to watch Em." Derek suggested

"That actually sounds good. Can you help me?" She asked her husband

"Of course." Derek nodded and lifted her into her wheelchair and put her shoes on and handed her a sweater

"I can't believe their baby is born." Meredith softly smiled but really struggling with herself

"I know, let's go see them." Derek kissed her forehead, too nervous to notice

Alex arrived and promised to stay with Emma as long as needed. Derek pushed her up to the maternity ward and knocked on the door

"Come in." They heard Christopher

"Congratulations!" Meredith smiled as they entered. "Welcome little guy." She smiled as she spotted the baby on Addison's chest, Mark cuddled around them

"Thank you guys." Addison smiled tiredly. "Mom, dad.. Mer and Der.. meet Tommy Sloan."

"Hi Tommy." Derek smiled and walked a but closer to hug Mark and Addie

"How are you feeling?" Meredith asked Addison, trying to get a better view of the baby

"Sore and tired. But it's all worth it." Addison smiled softly, leaning heavily into Mark's arms. "Do you wanna hold her?" She asked her friend

"Yes." Meredith smiled widely

Mark grabbed the baby and placed him in Meredith's arms

"He's absolutely gorgeous." Meredith looked at the little boy in her arms

"Luckily he looks like his mommy." Derek commented, laughing about his own joke

"Sure." Mark rolled his eyes. "Make sure your daughter doesn't get your nose."

"Guys." Carolyn rolled her eyes as their teasing will never stop

...

"We're going home. Are you going back to Meredith and Emma?" Carolyn asked her son as they stayed with Addison and Mark but were now gonna leave them rest and get some sleep as well

"Yeah, but I think I'll take a shower first." Derek smiled tiredly

"Take your girls home after the nap, Meredith really needs her own bed. And check on pressure sores." Carolyn said

"Mom- I'm her husband, I know what I have to do." He sighed

"I know, Der. But she's exhausted and pregnant." Carolyn hugged her son and they said their goodbyes

Derek went back to Meredith's office, not stopping to shower first. He opened the door and saw Meredith was uncomfortable, she was laying down with her heating pad on her side

"Hey." He quietly walked inside, hearing Emma's soft snores

"You're back already?" Meredith didn't even attempt to move

"Yes. Wanna lay on your back?" He asked her

"Yeah." Meredith nodded but winced as he turned her. "I love our baby but I'm so done with being pregnant." She admitted

"She's almost here." Derek climbed in next to her and massaged arms

"Good. Emma's being impatient as well." Meredith chuckled weakly as she tried to not move her body since every bit of moving was hurting her

"She'll be such a great big sister, we can be really proud of her." Derek nodded and kissed Meredith's neck

The sudden kiss caused pins and needles to wreck through her spine, causing her to wince in pain

"Hey, what's wrong?" Derek sat up

"I'm sore from the couch and from being so heavily pregnant." Meredith muttered as pain was still radiating through her body and she tried to breathe through it

"Do you want us to go home?" Derek asked

"I don't think I can do that now." Meredith shook her head the slightest slightest bit

"Okay, I'll give you a muscle relaxer, you'll have some sleep and tomorrow we're going home." Derek tucked her in, staying awake almost the entire night. He kept a close eye on his wife's body language and facial expressions. He hated seeing her in pain. Ever since her accidents he often saw her like that while before she'd never show her vulnerable side but she had to accept that it was okay to show Derek and to let him in. But it pained him

Every Time her spine was hurting because she had been sitting too long or because the temperature changed or because she simply had slept in the wrong position it always hurted him inside, wanting her to have an easier life because she didn't deserve all this trash

Im slowly getting better. Today was the first day i've gone outside again so i hope you like this update!
