"Richard, please." Derek almost begged him. "Listen to us!" He almost got angry

"I am listening, Derek. But what can I do?" Richard crossed his arms

"Help her. Help me." Derek sighed in defeat

"I wanna help but you want me to say I was the one who discovered it because Mer isn't allowed to log in anymore?" Richard frowned

"Or I found it but you need to have our backs!" Derek raised his voice. "You saw Mer years ago! You saw how devastated she was. We ran from Seattle. And now we're back and we wanna stay here but so far it has only taken things away from her."

"Derek, the investigators will get this proof and they'll see if it can cover Meredith."

Flashback

Meredith wheeled through the halls of the hospital to the rehab center. Her hair was loose and she was looking at the ground, hoping that everyone would just pass by her

She didn't wanna see anyone, she just hoped she'd be able to escape the reality of her current life and situation

"Meredith?" Richard stopped her

"Oh.. Richard-" She muttered, still not really looking up

"Are you here for rehab?" He asked her and she gave him the tiniest nod in response. "Do you wanna meet afterwards? We can have some coffee." He suggested

"No thanks. I'm going home afterwards." Meredith quickly said. There was no way she'd do this. Especially not alone without Derek

"I can bring you." Richard offered

"I can get home by myself." She stated, anger hearable in her voice

"Sorry.." Richard was held back by how she reacted

"Sorry- I- I need to go." Meredith muttered and wheeled off, really shocked by her own reaction as well

End of flashback

Meredith was playing a bit with Emma as they were waiting for Derek to return

"Hey." He walked inside, still a bit annoyed because of the talk he had with Richard

"Hi." Meredith quietly said as she wasn't feeling like herself

"Are you two ready to go get some lunch? Addison said we could." Derek told them

"Yeah." Meredith sighed. She rather wouldn't face anyone right now but staying in the hospital room would probably be even worse. So they got ready and went to the cafeteria

"What do you want, monkey?" Meredith asked Emma as they waited in line

"Nuggies! Dino nuggies!" Emma giggled

"With apple sauce and mashed potatoes?" Derek asked

"Yes!" Emma smiled widely

"Go, I'll bring it soon." Derek kissed her head and watched as she wheeled off. He hated how self conscious his wife had been ever since all of this had happened. He ordered the food for his family and brought it up to them

"Daddy! Yummy!" Emma giggled as Meredith had her still on her lap

"Can you grab the highchair?" She asked her husband. She didn't wanna try and struggle in front of everyone but she also didn't wanna ask for help with this task

"Of course." Derek nodded softly and grabbed a highchair and removed two regular chairs so Meredith and Emma could both sit down

"Yummy!" Emma smiled as she started to dig in. "Mama, you angwy?"

"No monkey, why are you asking?" Meredith asked her daughter, her heart aching as she indeed was angry. Angry at everything that had been happening

"Dunno." She shrugged and went back to eating when Derek's phone started beeping

"I'm so done." He rolled his eyes and got up. "911, sorry." He kissed both Emma and Meredith's cheek and ran off

He saw Meredith's face changing and felt horrible for leaving them there but he had work so he quickly paged Mark in a hope he'd be able to keep them company

But as he was running to the ER he saw Murphy running behind him. He really hoped they'd work on different cases but sadly...

"What are you doing here?" He snapped

"Ruth and Rik Jowel, both stuck. Both possible head traumas." They said

Derek started checking out the woman while Murphy checked out the guy

"Possible head trauma-" She said

"Tell us something we didn't know." Derek scoffed. "Diagnose her!" He yelled which scared some others

Derek was never someone who yelled or was rude. But this was clearly different. Addison was in the room as well because the woman was pregnant

"Easy." She whispered to him

...

Meredith was still at the cafeteria a while later when Mark walked up to them

"Got ice cream!" He smiled but Meredith clearly wanted to return to her room. "We can have it in bed with a movie." He suggested

"Yeah, let's go back." Meredith quickly nodded and let Emma climb up her lap again

"Derek will probably be busy for a while. Addie as well so I assume she'll keep you here an extra night." Mark explained

Meredith sighed, she just wanted to go home and leave the hospital

"Oh god, Dr Shepherd has been yelling at Murphy." They suddenly heard some nurses say

"What was that about?" Meredith frowned. "Emmie, go with uncle Mark and have some ice cream. I'll be there in a bit." Meredith said softly and let her daughter climb off her lap. She then hurried to the ER. She saw many befriended doctors looking ag her in pity as she heard screaming. She wheeled closer and recognized her husband's voice. As she turned around the corner she saw Derek and Murphy

"Do you even have any idea what all of this means?! Do you even know what my wife is going through?! You're sick in your head! You're insane!" He had his hands in his hair, completely falling apart

"Your wife should have never been a doctor! She hummiliated me while she's incapable of working here and taking urgent cases!" Murphy yelled

Then they both spotted Meredith, she had clearly heard everything..

Sorry had a rough week with work and uni results. So im feeling meh and i just wanna sleep now :p
