"Okay guys! Let's pack your stuff, please. We're supposed to leave in 10 minutes!" Derek yelled as both girls were running around
"Grace, come here. I'll help with your shirt." Meredith said as she wheeled through the room
"But we're running around!" Grace giggled
"Let's get ready." Emma quit and listened to her parents, hurrying to start putting on her shoes. "Mommy, I'm almost ready!"
"Amazing, Emmie. Grace, are you coming here?" Meredith asked as she grabbed the little girl's shoes
"No! Want my purple shoes!" She crossed her arms
"Sweetie, the purple shoes are supposed to be worn when you go to school, these are the ones you need to wear when we go out." Meredith tried to explain, honestly too tired to deal with this
"But I want my purple shoes." Grace whined and didn't stand still
"Grace, go sit down, please." Meredith ordered and the girl finally gave in. "Thank you."
"Mommy, I'm ready." Emma smiled proud of herself
"Thanks sweetie!" Meredith smiled and bend forward to get Grace's shoes on
"Everything is in the car." Derek said as he entered the house after putting the last things inside the car
"Girls are ready." Meredith nodded, already a bit tired. "I need to put my coat on, then I'm ready." Meredith said and fixed her position
"Go ahead, take it easy. I'll go buckle Grace in in the meantime
"I'll stay with you." Emma smiled at her mom, waiting as Meredith put on her coat and grabbed her keys to lock the door
"Thanks honey. I bet you're excited, you've been wanting to go for so long." Meredith smiled as she locked the door and the two made their way over to the car
"Yes! I love animals!" Emma giggled and got in the car
Meanwhile Meredith got in and Derek put her wheelchair in the back
"And off we go!" Derek smiled, holding onto Meredith's hand as they drove off

A while later they met with the others at the zoo. Meredith was holding Grace on her lap because the little girl was being way too excited and she was scared her daughter would escape and run off
"Are you okay with holding her?" Derek asked as he took their bag with stuff they'd possibly need
"Yeah, as long as she sits still." Meredith frowned as Grace was bouncing
"Gracie-" Derek tried to stop her
"Uncle Mark! Uncle Mark!" Grace wiggled her little legs, causing Meredith to wince in pain as the girl was way too excited
"Let me take her-" Derek said and quickly lifted her in his arms, the girl still kicking in a try to escape
"Hey guys." Christopher was the first to walk up at them and take Grace as he saw how she was wiggling in Derek's arms
"Poppa!" Emma smiled and hugged him, then moving to hug the others
"Looks like she's been having sugar?" Addison chuckled and hugged Meredith, her stomach a bit in the way
"Not at all." Meredith sighed and hugged her friend. "How's this little bean doing?" Meredith asked as Addison rested her hands on her stomach
"She's been amazing. I do an ultrasound every day." Addison laughed and Meredith said hello to the others
...
They had been exploring for a while. Emma and Tommy were giggling as they pointed at all the animals while Grace kept talking to Christopher and Derek
"I think we all deserve a break." Carolyn said, noticing Meredith and Addison were behind a bit
"Mommy, can I have juice?" Emma ran off to her mom
"Of course, it's in my bag." Meredith told her
"Wait honey, we'll get something from the bar, do you two want a snack?" Derek asked
"Oh Mark- We should get fries! Baby girl is hungry-" They heard Addison saying
"Let's see what the girls want." Meredith nodded and fixed herself a bit as she had been sliding because of the bumpy terrain.
"Can I have fries as well?" Emma asked as she heard Addison talk about them
"I want ice cweam!" Grace smiled
"Em and I can share." Meredith nodded quickly and wheeled up to the table where the others gathered
"Have you been doing okay?" Christopher asked her quietly as Mark and Derek were getting all the drinks and food
"Yeah." Meredith nodded softly. "I'm just tired."
"How has therapy been going?" He asked her, caring a lot about his daughter in law
"It's been helping a lot. I can finally go to the hospital without freaking out.." Meredith shrugged
"Hey!" A guy yelled which caused Meredith tk flinch and freeze
"Mer?" Christopher worried, the others didn't seem to really respond
"I-It's okay." Meredith nodded, clearly trying to calm herself down like she had learned from her therapist
"I'm gonna touch your back. You're okay. We're proud of you." Christopher rubbed her back softly, after a few minutes he noticed how she eased down again
"Hey guys, I got everything." Derek placed it down and frowned a bit as he saw his dad and wife
"Yummy! Mommy, our fries." Emma smiled at her mom. Meredith smiled back, she seemed to be in some gaze still but she got out of it slowly without freaking out which was a huge accomplishment
"I'm so proud of you." Christopher said softly, smiling reassuringly at his son
"I love you." Derek kissed the side of Meredith's head
