"So doctor Grey, you are sure you didn't change the plasma for the blood?" The judge asked

"Yes. I can't even reach the bags without help." Meredith sighed sadly, she had hoped this trial would have been easier on her and her family

"She could have asked for help." The lawyer of the patient's family said

"There's no proof. No one ever stated they helped." Meredith's lawyer, Nancy Klein,  quickly said

"What about her husband? Dr Shepherd?"

"That's not true. Derek wasn't even close.." Meredith muttered confused

"You went to see him after your last visit, you two might have returned." The lawyer kept going

"What about Dr Murphy who picked up the blood?" Nancy mentioned

"That's right. I want Dr Murphy here." The lawyer said. Meredith was dismissed to head back to her table next to her lawyer

As she turned around she saw Emma asleep on Mark's lap, her stuffed animal tucked underneath her cheek

Meredith suddenly remembered again why she was fighting. Her hand moved to her stomach and she felt her unborn daughter kicking softly

"Hey- You did great." Derek whispered in her ear as the judge interrogated Murphy who was now an official suspect because of the found evidence and the investigators not believing her

"My back is bothering me a bit." Meredith admitted and flexed her shoulders

"Do you need a break?" He asked her

"Not yet." She shook her head, really wanting to see what Murphy was about to testify

...

A few hours went by, it was now really time to have some late lunch and rest. Derek had asked Nancy to ask for a break but Meredith insisted she would be fine until Derek was really done with it

"I'm fine, Derek.." Meredith muttered, although he could see how her shoulders were all cramped up

"Nancy, she needs a break. Now." Derek said sternly, trying to massage her shoulders without drawing any attention to it

"Judge-" Nancy tried. "I'd like to propose taking a break so we can all eat something?" She suggested

"You or your client?" The judge asked

"We both do." Nancy said, knowing Meredith didn't wanna play on people's emotions with her pregnancy or whatsoever

"Okay. We meet again in an hour." The judge said

Derek immediately got up and kneeled down next to his wife, hugging her tight

"Come on, you need to lay down." Derek said sternly, really worried about his Meredith

"Der-" Meredith's voice was shaking but he quickly pushed her outside, bringing her to the quiet room they had to discuss their case. He lifted her onto the couch and helped her lay down. She didn't say anything

Derek lifted her legs as their family entered

"Is everything okay?" Addison asked concerned and ran up to her

"Yeah-" Meredith's voice cracked as she was super emotional

"You'll be okay." Derek kissed her forehead

"Emmie-" She whimpered

"She's here, asleep." Mark walked up to them

"Good.." Meredith whispered

"Close your eyes for some minutes, you can have lunch in a bit." Derek stroke her hair

...

"Dr Murphy, you're admitting that you picked up the blood but what did you do with it?" The judge asked confused

"I did pick it up, but never attached it to the patient." Murphy started to panic as her façade was slowly slipping away

"Then who did? Who did you deliver the blood to?" The judge asked, confused. Murphy's tried to help her out but it didn't work

"Dr Grey." Murphy turned her head to face Meredith who was looking in shock at the lying doctor

"Doctor Grey, did you?" The judge looked at Meredith

"No. I- I was with my husband." Meredith frowned. "Murphy, I don't understand why you're saying this." Meredith asked confused

"She never took me seriously!" Murphy lost her patience

"I- I gave you a second chance.." Meredith sadly said

"You never did! You humiliated me in a full OR!" Murphy yelled and stood up

"I-" Meredith was speechless. She had given Murphy another chance instead of demanding the board to fire her

"Doctor Grey never did. We have so many things to prove. You offended her at the start, claiming that doctors can't be in wheelchairs." Derek stood up, seeing his wife all quiet. "She didn't want you to be fired and instead you'd be on her case to be educated." Derek said pretty angry

"Doctor Webber, you're the chief?" The judge asked

"Uh- Yes I am." Richard stood up

"Is that true?" The judge asked

"Doctor Shepherd demanded that Doctor Murphy would be fired after she insulted Doctor Grey. But Meredith believed it would be better for Murphy to learn, even if she had made a medical mistake." Richard nodded and told the judge everything

"I'll be back in half an hour with the results." The judge said and left

"Half an hour.." Meredith whispered, holding tightly onto her daughter that was once again asleep in her arms
