"Emmie- Please-" Derek begged as their daughter was screaming

"No!" She stomped her feet

"Please Der-" Meredith fought her tears. "Please take her home."

"Emmie-" He lifted her up and hugged her tight

"Mer- Your monitor." Addison walked in with a big frown, really confused at why her little niece was screaming

"Addie-" Derek sighed. "Can you check out Mer?" Derek asked her, really not knowing what to do. "We're going for a quick walk." He kissed Meredith's head

Emma kept sobbing in Derek's arms as he took her with him.

Meredith watched them closely as they made their way out of the room

"What happened?" Addison asked, starting the ultrasound to check on the baby

"She was sad. She wanted to go home." Meredith wiped her tears that she finally allowed to come

"Oh Mer-" Addison felt guilty but she knew this was the right thing. "I can stay here all night with you while Derek takes her home. Or Mark and I can take her to your home." Addison offered

"Thanks." Meredith sighed but wasn't really up for much more thinking. She'd see what Derek would want and if Emma would agree

"It will be okay." Addison kissed Meredith's forehead gently

...

Meredith was laying down in the hospital bed. Derek and Emma had gone home as Meredith assured him she would be okay. Addison was almost done with her shift and would spend the night with Meredith, just in case there was something up

But Meredith was bored to death. Her wheelchair was out of reach so she was stuck in bed. She had tried to sleep but was worrying so she decided to call Derek instead. But Emma was already fast asleep so they talked a bit which led to Meredith missing her family even more

"Hey." Addison walked inside. "I brought dinner." She smiled widely. Meredith now really noticed her small stomach as she was now fully alert

"Thanks." Meredith said quietly. She just hoped all of this would have been easier. That they'd be able to really enjoy her pregnancy instead of being stuck in the hospital attached to all kind of wires and machines

"I brought lobster rolls." Addison winked as the two woman loved them

"You're really the best." Meredith chuckled and pushed herself a little more upright

"Use the electric headrest." Addison said, knowing it was a habit Meredith had but since her recent spine surgery she had to be careful with those kind of movements

Meredith sighed, this felt like defeat. She hated to admit her body was weaker

"Addie? Was all of this... a good idea?" Meredith asked

"What?" Addison frowned

"Getting another baby. I feel like I'm being an awful mother to Em and and awful wife to Derek." She admits

"Why? Because you're in the hospital?" Addison frowned and passed Meredith her food, receiving a small nod in return. "Of course it was a good idea. Yes your pregnancy needs a little more attention and doctors but all of this is happening because of some stupid person that went mental." Addison hugged her friend

...

During the night Meredith couldn't sleep and was logging into the hospital database when she suddenly discovered something about the ordered blood that was given to the patient that refused blood

Meredith wanted to get up and tell someone but she was very aware that it was 4am in the morning. Her wheelchair was still out if reach as she had a catheter to avoid her having to get up to use the bathroom

So she decided to call Derek anyway

"Mer-" Derek's exhausted voice was heard through the phone

"D-Der, sorry! I- I think I found something! Something about the blood! So here it shows a nurse ordered it but someone else picked it up. It was Murphy!" Meredith gasped as she told her husband

"So you think she's responsible?" Derek frowned as he has always suspected her

"Well she for sure lied about it." Meredith nodded

"Let me get Em. I'm on my way." Derek yawned

"Are you sure?" Meredith quietly asked

"Yes and then we'll sleep together because you need sleep." Derek said, he knew his wife hadn't slept yet because she sounded way too tired and exhausted

Meredith waited anxiously. She kept looking for some more stuff as she waited for Derek to show up with their daughter. She fixed her lower body after turning herself in the bed

"Hey." Derek entered the room

"Hi-" Meredith smiled, for the first time in a long time there was a sparkle visible in her eyes

Urghhh gotta work again today
