Meredith was wheeling through the hospitals a few weeks later, she was struggling a little with her bigger belly as she was now 5 months pregnant
Addison had paged her to check on her little bean while Addison was about to give birth any day
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Derek catched up with her
"Tired." Meredith chuckled. "Grace waking us up all night was not the greatest." She said and kept pushing herself, seeing Addison waiting for them
"Hey guys!" She waved, one hand on her back
"Hey, how are you and how is the baby?" Meredith asked her red haired friend
"About to come any second." She laughed. "Come on, let's go inside." Addison instructed and opened the door
It all went quick and smooth, this was Meredith's third pregnancy, by now she knew what she had to do
"Looks like she's still very small." Addison mentioned. "I- You need to be aware this might have some consequences.. It can mean many things, she might always have a low immune system, those kinds of things." Addison said sadly
"She will be okay, she has a few more months to grow and to get stronger." Derek said sternly, wanting to shake of his worries
"But nothing dangerous?" Meredith carefully asked
"So far her heart is steady, nothing unusual. She's moving, so far it looks okay." Addison tried to assure her friends
Meredith nodded and watched the screen carefully
"Our shift ends soon, then we'll go home and you go eat a huge bowl of strawberry ice cream." Derek kissed Meredith's forehead
"What has Amy been saying about your spine?" Addison asked a bit impatient, closing off the ultrasound
"I will need to take it easy.. Bedrest starts next month." She sighed. "Well not complete bed rest but it feels like it."
"It's what's best for you." Addison nodded and clutched her stomach. "Can you page Mark and call mom and dad?"
"Why?" Derek frowned
"Are you in labor??" Meredith asked as she was still laying down on the examination table
"Yeah, just wanted to make sure you were doing okay. My water still needs to break, I got time-" Addison said when they heard some noise
Addison looked down and back up at her friends
"I don't think I have that much time." She chuckled. "Call Mark, please." She said and waddled out of the room
"Goodluck! We're staying around!" Meredith said, grabbing her phone quickly

"Honey, you should go take some rest." Christopher said softly as they were waiting at the hospital until Addison would give birth
"I'm fine." Meredith said, just staring ahead of her as she didn't wanna give in
"You should go take a nap. Your mom and I will probably take one as well." He told her softly, his hand moving to her shoulder but she winced and he immediately knew she was in a lot of pain. "I'm not gonna have a fight about this, you need to sleep. You're pregnant."
"I'm pregnant, not sick." She stated
"You worked a full shift, Derek told me you were being kept up all night." Christopher frowned, not understanding why she was suddenly so stubborn
"Think I'm going to go lay down for a little bit." Carolyn said tiredly
"Hmm.. I think I'll sleep some as well, Mer are you coming?" Derek asked
"I'm fine. I'll wake you if there are issues." She said
"You haven't slept all night." Derek frowned
"We're going now, we'll see you after a short nap." Christopher said, hoping Derek would be able to convince her
"Why don't you wanna come?" Derek frowned
"I don't think I can move. I can't move anything without it hurting." She muttered
"Can I push you to your office?" He asked her and she nodded, a single tear rolling down her cheek
He quickly dried her tears and kissed her lips. He started pushing her to her own office where she had a great setup for naps
"I can't lift myself." She whispered
"It's okay. I'll do it for you." Derek said and lifted her on the bed, placing a pillow underneath her knees
"Will you ask Alex if he can send us updates on how the girls are doing?" Meredith muttered as Derek helped her swallow some meds and then he got her ready for a nap
"Of course. Just make sure to get some rest. You and the baby need it." Derek kissed her stomach softly and climbed in next to her, making sure they were tucked in and warm
"We're having 3 kids." Meredith muttered with a big smile, her eyes closed
"Three girls. I'm gonna lose my mind." Derek chuckled. "4 girls to love, I couldn't have wished for more." He said and closed his eyes, holding Meredith's hand in his own
