"Derek, I'm scared." Meredith held his hand as they were riding in the ambulance

"You're just starting, things look very, very good." He kissed her forehead

"We're arriving. Goodluck doctor Grey." The driver said and they loaded Meredith out

"Thanks a lot." She nodded and they wheeled her inside as she didn't have her wheelchair yet and Addison didn't want her to sit up yet

"Are you okay to do this?" Derek asked Addison as he knew Meredith would need a c-section because of her spinal cord injury

"Of course." Addison smiled softly. "I promise I'll go cuddle with my baby for the next week."

"Good." Derek chuckled and they headed inside

Meanwhile Carolyn and Christopher loaded in their car. They made sure to bring Meredith's wheelchair and everything Tommy and Emma would need

"Mom, I'm taking my car to drive with Tommy. Do I grab us something to eat?" Mark asked Carolyn

"No, we can just grab something." Carolyn nodded and hugged her son. "Let's go, another grandchild is about to be born." She said proudly

The family made their way over to the hospital, Emma kept begging her grandparents to see her mom and dad but they were able to distract her

The whole birth was being prepared. They scheduled her for a c section and were wheeling her into the OR. Derek kept whispering things into Meredith's ear as Addison started the surgery

"Everything's going great." Derek kissed Meredith's forehead

"I can't believe this is really happening." Meredith whispered. "Is Addie okay?" She asked

"I'm okay, Mer." Addison promised her friend. "Okay, I'm taking the baby out. She looks amazing." Addison smiled from underneath her mask

"Derek, check on her-" Meredith quickly said

Derek nodded and got up, still holding onto Meredith's hand as he watched Addison take out his daughter

"Why isn't she crying? Why can't I hear her?" Meredith anxiously asked

"Easy Mer." Addison said and suddenly they heard little cries. "Here she goes. Strong lungs." She chuckled

"Congratulations, Mer. I'm gonna take care of your little girl." Alex said softly as he entered with an incubator

"Is she okay? Is she healthy?" Meredith asked anxiously

"She's perfect." Derek nodded as he looked at her with a huge smile

"Give us some time to get both of you ready." Addison said and started to close up Meredith

"Here, take a quick look. Do you guys have a name?" Alex wheeled the incubator in front of Meredith

"We do." Derek and Meredith looked at each other

Meredith was brought to a room and they were reunited with their baby girl

"She's still a bit small but she has lots of time to grow bigger. Congratulations." Alex said to both of them as he took care of their little girl, not wanting any other doctor to do it

"Can our family come meet her?" Derek asked Alex

"Yeah of course, just keep it short. Both Mer and your girl need their rest." Alex nodded and left.

"Your name is perfect for you. You're gorgeous." Meredith whispered and kissed the little girl's forehead

"Hi guys." Carolyn quietly said as she sneaked inside. "Are you sure we can come in?"

"Yes mom, please come further. Is Emmie awake?" Meredirh asked, wanting her small family together

"Mama!" Emma smiled as Christopher carried her inside, half asleep

"Hi monkey. Meet your little sister." Derek took her in his arms, carefully placing her down next to Meredith and the baby

"Hi." Emma giggled. "Daddy, what's her name?" She asked with wide eyes

By now everyone was inside. Mark was holding Tommy while Addison was resting on a chair, pretty tired from the surgery. Carolyn and Christopher were both admitting the baby while Kai hugged Amelia from behind

"Meet Grace Lynn Shepherd." Meredith smiled

"After you, mom." Derek smiled at his mom

"Do you wanna hold her?" Meredith asked and weakly attempted to move

"Careful." Addison quickly said

Meanwhile Carolyn lifted her granddaughter into her arms and the whole family enjoyed this precious moment

The baby is hereeee 🥰
