Meredith was sitting up in Charlotte's bed with the girl on her lap.

Charlotte had to nebulize as she was suffering from asthma. Meredith's legs were heavily spasming underneath the blankets

"Mommy? Daddy said we should say goodbye." Emma, who's 12 right now, walked inside her sister's bedroom

"Oh are you guys leaving already?" Meredith asked, Charlotte looking up at her sister

"Yeah." Emma nodded and hugged her mom tight, then hugging her little sister. "Mommy, are you okay?" She asked as she saw how Meredith's legs were acting up

"Not the greatest way to sit here but they will slow down." Meredith assured her. "Don't forget we have dinner at nana and poppa tonight."

"Yay!" Emma giggled. "Grace is on her way!" She said and left. Meredith heard Derek calling out for the girls

"Mommy!" A now 8 year old Grace said. "I gotta go to school!"

"You will do amazing. See you tonight." Meredith kissed Grace's forehead softly

"Mer, I'll be back as soon as I finished my surgery but I'll drop the girls off first." He smiled. "Bye bye Charlie, be nice for mommy." He chuckled

"We'll be okay. Think she's already tired

"Daddy-" Charlotte weakly held onto Derek's hand

"I'll be back soon, princess." He kissed her forehead and then his wife's lips. "Bye!"

"Bye bye!" Meredith said, waving Charlotte's arm and then adjusting her daughter on her lap as the girl had moved because of her own spasming legs

"Tiwed.." Charlotte muttered

"I know, princess. Once you're finished we're gonna get some breakfast and then you can watch some tv, how does that sound to you?" Meredith asked the little girl

"Kay." She nodded. "Can I have fwuit loops?" Her eyes widening

"Of course." Meredith chuckled softly and saw the treatment had stopped. "Okay Charlie, stay seated, I'll lift you in a minute." She lifted her daughter off her lap and got into her wheelchair

"Mommy-" Charlotte got impatient

"Come here-" Meredith lifted her up as soon as she could, feeling her back protesting at the action

Derek had been upset with it a few times before, he didn't want his wife to lift Charlotte as often anymore but Meredith didn't agree

"Let's go have some yummy breakfast now." Meredith wheeled out of Charlotte's bedroom to the kitchen and poured her a bowl with cereal and milk

"It's so yummy!" Charlotte giggled softly as she had her cereal at the counter

"I'm glad you like it. Tonight we're going to nana and poppa. Riley and Tommy will be there too." Meredith explained and took her own meds in a hope her legs would finally stop acting up and the pain in the back would disappear

"Momma, can pway with you?" Charlotte asked as her eating slowed down

"We can. Would you like to play with your blocks? Or rather with your dolls?" Meredith asked, seeing how Charlotte started playing with her food

"Dolls." Charlotte muttered and put the spoon down, pushing the bowl away from herself

"Honey, don't you wanna eat a little more?" Meredith asked, pretty worried as her daughter clearly didn't eat as much as she should have

"Not hungwy." Charlotte stated and almost launched herself into Meredith's lap

"Okay honey, let's have some fruit later on then." Meredith said and left the bowl on the counter, she couldn't carry it with her daughter in her lap. "Let's sit on the couch and I'll grab your dolls."

"No." Charlotte muttered and tightened the grip she had on her mother

"Okay, okay." Meredith muttered, feeling her back aching despite the pills

Meredith wheeled to the girls' playroom and up to the dolls, she reached out for a few that she tried to balance on her lap

"Charlie, can you hold this doll while you still hold onto me?" Meredith asked, not sure they'd make it

"Mommy-" The little girl started whining

"Okay okay.." Meredith wheeled very slowly back to the living room, her back starting to hurt more and more

"I tiwed.." Charlotte pulled at her mom's shirt

"I know, charlotte. Let's go sit down on the couch and take a nap, please." Meredith said and heard her leg starting to spasm again

"Uhu." The girl nodded her head against Meredith's chest

"Perfect, here we are." Meredith placed her chair next to the couch and lifted her daughter onto the couch, then transferred as well

"Cuddles, mommy!" Charlotte crawled into her mother's lap

"Slowly, honey. Let's lay down together." Meredith made herself lay down, her legs on a pillow and taking her daughter into her arms

"Love cuddle." Charlotte whispered

"I love cuddles as well." Meredith nodded, kissing her head softly

Meredith carefully watched Charlotte fall asleep and once the girl was snoring away she decided to take a nap as well, her body aching for some rest and sleep

Meredith had been absolutely exhausted the past time, she had been doing more research at the hospital and whenever she wasn't working she was driving the kids, taking care of them or taking care of her own body, she missed spending evenings on the couch with Derek
