Chapter 28

I heaved a sigh and massaged my temple. I bit my lower lip and followed her before uttering her name.

"L-Love."

"Yes?" She turned around with a cheeky smile on her face, reddish cheeks and sparkling eyes. She seems satisfied when I called her like that.

I can't believe she waited for me to say it.

"Ingat po," ayan lang ang nasabi ko.

"Okay," Lumapit si Ma'am ng husto sa akin, she's still wearing her formal attire dahil for sure galing siya sa school at dumiretso na naman dito. She wears her heels that's why our height is even.

She's about to give me a kiss on my cheek pero umiwas ako. Bakas sa mukha niya ang pagkagulat dahil sa ginawa ko.

Pero kasi, I think this is too much? Alam kong may hint na siya na gusto ko siya but on my part, I don't know if we have this mutual feelings for each other and I'm afraid to ask her that. I'm afraid to be hurt. Puro pasakit na nga ang buhay ko dagdagan ko pa? Syempre naman!

"What's wrong?" Takang tanong niya. "I just want to give you a good bye kiss."

"Ma'am, uhm..W-why did you kiss me, kanina?" Umiwas ako ng tingin at mariing napalunok. Pinaglalaruan ko rin ang mga daliri ko sa likuran ko.

"Because I wanted too?" Nakatingin pa rin ito sa akin, medyo nakakunot na ang noo nito dahil sa pagtataka sa tanong ko.

"But still, why did you do it? Sorry to say this po pero naguguluhan po kasi ako. Ayokong umasa na...g-gusto niyo ako not as a student--"

"Yes, I do like you." Straightforward niyang sambit na kinagulat ko.

"H-huh?" Napatingin ako sa kanya habang nanlalaki ang mga mata ko. Hindi ko alam kung tama ba yung narinig ko.

"Ayoko nang ulitin." She looked away this time while biting her lower lip. Her foot keeps tapping on the floor to get her own attention.

"Ma'am, tama ba yung narinig ko?" Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala.

I held her chin gently so she could look at me. "Answer me, Ma'am."

Her eyes softens but there's also fear visible inside of it. Umiwas ulit siya ng tingin at napalunok. Yumuko ito at huminga nang malalim. "Y-yes you heard it right but--"

"So you like me, like, like me?" Pag-uulit kong tanong. Inilagay ko na ang mga palad ko sa magkabilang pisngi nito upang hindi na makatakas pa ang mga tingin niya sa akin.

May ngiti sa mga labi ko ngayon. Yung puso ko hindi na rin mapigil sa pagtibok nang mabilis. Kulang na lang rin ay kapusin ako ng hininga dahil parang naubos na ang buong lakas ko dahil sa narinig galing kay Professor Adler.

Dumadagundong din ang mga kalamnan ko sa tyan. Ramdam ko ang pag init ng pisngi ko maging ang pisngi ng babaeng hinahawakan ko ngayon.

Suddenly, a single tear fall out of her eye while looking at me deeply. I wiped it out using my thumb. Her smiling lips slightly quiver as her hands slowly travels on my waist and pinch it a bit that made me closed the gap between us.

Our lips collided again, this time it's more passionate and sincere. I sense the validation of my feelings after knowing that she likes me too. Although I've seen fears in her eyes, she still showed me that what she said was true.
