"Increase the zap!"
A doctor yelled as the nurse followed. He rubbed his two pieces of equipment together and placed it on her chest. She jerked up and then fell straight back onto the bed.
"A bit more!!"
Arshia jerked up, reaching out to an unknown force. She coughed, coughed so hard that it had woken Karna up. He looked at her worriedly and scooted over to her, rubbing her back to provide some comfort. She covered her mouth and continued coughing. When she removed her hand, she saw heavy amount of blood all over her hands, some blood dripping and making contact with her white silky gown. Tears escaped her eyes as she coughed out more and more blood.
Karna looked at her in horror and screamed out to call the royal doctor. Arshia felt her head spinning at she grabbed onto Karna, afraid that she would fall any moment.
He had no words. No words of comfort left his mouth. He simply continued to rub her back and pull her closer to him.
Soon the royal doctor had arrived but at that moment,Arshia had already fell unconscious.
.
"Mitr, everything will.be fine" Duryodhana said, trying to provide comfort.
It was still dark and the diyas were the only source of light. Karna was sent outside so that the doctor could examine Arshia. He was reluctant at first and disagreed but then Duryodhana was called. He pulled Karna out of the room.
"How can she be okay? She was spitting so much blood out" Karna cringed at the memory of her blooded gown and hand.
"We will soon find out,mitr"
And then, the royal doctor came out.
"The reason of her spitting so much blood out isn't very clear at the moment. It seems as if something had triggered her mind while she was asleep or she was feeling or seeing something that hurt her deeply. Physically or mentally, that's not clear. The needed medics are already provided to her and incase this happens again,I would recommend you to call me sooner so I can figure out what the matter is. For now, nothing is very serious. Subh ratri"
Karna uttered no words after the doctor left. This was so out of the blue. She was fine before going to bed.....she was fine the whole day, what had happened to her now?
"Karna,go to her and comfort her. If you need anything at any point,I am here. Just call me out. Go,Karna"
He gulped and nodded at Duryodhana as he walked inside the chamber.
There he saw Arshia sitting with her knees near her chest and hands interlocked in front of her knees on the bed while looking out the window. He looked around the room and realised that the curtains where up and the room was illuminated with moon light.
Walking to her,he sat infront of her but she didn't even spare a glance at him. She simply stared out the window.
Karna noticed her face. Her face had lost it's colour and had gone pale now. Her rosy red lips where dry and looked like there was a desparate need of moisture in them. Her hair was all messed up and her clothes were stained with blood. He could see a bit of blood on the side of her lips,so he extended his hand and wiped the blood off her face.
Upon the sudden contact,Arshia moved back hitting her head on the wall.
"Arshia it's just me!"
She frowned. It couldn't be him. For her,his touch were heavenly and it gave her warmth. But,this time it felt as if a block of ice had made contact with her delicate skin.
