Abala at mabilis ang naging kilos ko sa pag-iimpake. I took my time packing my things up, making sure that I'd be able to bring enough unlike the previous times I had to pack and leave and couldn't bring as much as I can. This time, I'm not running away from something. This time, I'm not chasing time so I can get the chance to disappear just in time. This time, I am after the clock for I am needed to be reunited with the mother whom I lost in a very unprecedented time. I am, indeed, finally coming home. Just coming home.

"I talked to my source in ECG. Apollo and I have discussed about this many times and we've figured that it's somehow just safe for you to go home, Aps. Based on what we've gathered from my source." Boses ni Claire habang naka-upo ako sa bleacher ng JFK airport, nag-hihintay na lamang tawagin ang aking flight. I nodded.

I'm wearing my big Chanel shades and a Versace silk scarf over my head to hide myself from possible paparazzi lurking around and may cause me delay in boarding my flight. I only gave myself few hours to book a flight back to the Philippines because I could no longer take staying here after what happened to Nang Lupe. I needed to go home. Pronto.

"Although, he's currently in the country right now but we were told that he's busy traveling for big projects and some government related ones. And you will be mainly in Cebu and your Kuya and I will be with you so this will do us all good." Claire continued. I didn't even budge at the mention of that evil man. I've had enough of his bullshit and he's very irrelevant in this very moment of my life. Dealing with him is something I am setting aside because my Nanang comes first right now.

"Your parents have stayed in Cebu after escorting Nang Lupe to her family and home. But Apollo said they will be flying back to Manila first thing in the morning tomorrow. So when you arrive around noon there, wala na sila. At nandun na rin kami ng Kuya mo upang salubungin ka."

I timidly nodded at Claire, still void of any emotion. My eyes are so heavy and puffy after hours of crying. I didn't get much sleep since I had to work on getting my ticket and packing my things up. I also didn't think I can ever sleep enough so I didn't bother trying.

"Darrell Cordovez, a friend of mine, offered a place for us to stay. Though, it's really just for you since uuwi rin agad kami ni Kuya mo. Babalik na lamang kapag libing na ni Nang Lupe." She said, catching my haywired attention at the mention of a certain prominent name.

"Cordovez?"

"Yeah... They're natively from Cebu. An old prominent clan that dates back hundreds of years living in the city. They can be of help securing you." She said with an assuring tone. I sneered.

"They've worked closely with the Echiverris before, Claire. I can get my own place. Leave it to me." I said. Fuck, ang tagal ng flight ko!

"Your Kuya won't approve of you staying in random places, Apple. Commercial establishments can be easily accessed by such forces like the Echiverris. Staying in a privately owned and gated place by a native family in that place is much advisable." She countered. I sighed. Whatfuckingever. Ayokong abalahin ang sarili ko sa tarantadong iyon sabi, eh! Ugh!

"Fine. Will the two evil old hags attend the burial? I'm definitely not missing it."

"We have no idea yet. Your Kuya is hoping they won't since your Dad is also in a big project with Tyson. We will just know..."

Umirap na lamang ako at agad nang tumayo noong tinawag ang flight ko. Mabilis akong nagpaalam kay Claire at isinirado ko na rin ang utak ko mula sa lahat ng bagay habang bumibyahe pauwi ng Pinas.

I miraculously didn't also sleep the whole flight back home. Which I normally would just like many other people. It's a very long flight yet I only stared blankly from one thing to another, mind completely blank as well. No thoughts came into my mind. No emotions rose up too. Just me being completely dissociated from reality and everything.
