Chapter 54 - TV

I lay in the hotel room, pillows propping me up into a comfortable position, with Smackdown playing loudly on the TV. I had a bottle of wine beside me and snacks laid out on the bed in reachable places. This was going to be tough to watch, but I couldn't not watch it. I'm normally there, backstage, chatting with the wrestlers and staff, getting ready for my match and getting hyped up. Now I'm sat surrounded by food and drink, ready to sob as the divas match comes on.

"Now Cole, we all know how this huge match came about! All thanks to the boss herself, Stephanie McMahon!" Jerry said on commentary.

"I know, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this pans out. At the end of this match, one of the tag teams will be facing Paige for the Divas Title!" Tears filled my eyes. I was supposed to be out there.

"Here's what happened on Raw this week." JBL said, and it showed the clip of me putting Paige in the PTO and Nikki coming out and hitting me, then what Stephanie said about this upcoming match and Royal Rumble.

"Very exciting stuff!" Jerry said. "And now we get to watch these four girls take each other on for a chance at the Divas title! What do you think, Cole?"

"Well Jerry, it'll be all well and good fighting here but what happens when it gets to Royal Rumble? If Nikki and Brie win how will they decide which of them should win the title? And if it's Lucy and Frenzy, will Frenzy suddenly defeat both and become a surprise champion? What if Paige defeats them anyway? All of this will have been in vain." He shook his head.

"Thanks Cole!" JBL said unenthusiastically. Nikki and Brie's entrance music echoed the arena and they both ran out happily, doing their little dance before skipping down the ring and doing their jumps into the ring simultaneously. They hugged each other and faced the ramp, smug looks on their faces. Nikki whispered something to Brie and they both began to giggle.

"It looks like those Bella Twins are up to more trouble!"

After a loud roar, Frenzy's entrance theme played and she jumped up and down at the top of the ramp before running down to the ring, high fiving the crowd as she did. She ran around the ring, high fiving more fans before getting into the ring and shadow boxing, before roaring in Nikki and Brie's faces. They took a few steps back just to be careful. I grabbed my glass of wine and took a huge sip. This was going to kill me. My music played and the crowd went wild. Everyone looked at the top of the ramp for me to arrive, but I didn't.

"Where is she?" Cole asked.

"She remembers she has a match, right?" JBL laughed.

"You'd think she would, this is the difference between her getting to Royal Rumble or her watching the Bella Twins on it!" Jerry added. Tears filled my eyes once more. I tried to calm myself down. I should be out there but I'm stuck here feeling sorry for myself because I tried to help someone else... Again...

Stephanie McMahon walked out as her theme played and down to the middle of the ramp, microphone in her hand.

"Well, if Lucy doesn't want to fight, I guess I'll have to make her tag team forfeit... Which means Nikki and Brie will be going to Royal Rumble to face Paige for the title!" Brie and Nikki jumped around and celebrated, but it was cut short by another theme song playing. It was Rosa's.

"Wait Stephanie!" She called out, running over to her and putting her hand on Steph's shoulder. "I think you need to see this before you make your decision." They pointed to the TV screen which showed CCTV of the hallway backstage. It showed me walking down it on the phone. I bump into Nikki and apologise for not looking where I was going, but then she jumps me and beats me up with help from Brie. They slam me into a wall before Nikki picks me up and across her shoulders, delivering the Rack Attack. They run off and leave me in the corridor, where Rosa finds me. The crowd booed and hissed as tears escaped and ran down my face. I loved my fans, I loved the WWE Universe so much. They actually booed Nikki for stopping me fighting. I took a sip of my wine and a mouthful of snacks as I waited for what Steph had to say. I had my phone at the ready to tweet all my followers, but I was told not to disclose anything until this had aired.

"Well well well..." Stephanie shook her head. "Nikki and Brie, I never thought you'd stoop that low. That is not how employees of the WWE should act. I have no other option but to punish you both for your actions. Firstly, I will grant this match a win by Frenzy and Lucy and they will have their title run at Royal Rumble against Paige. Secondly, the two of you will be fined for your actions and will not be allowed to wrestle at all in Royal Rumble. I hope you will realise just how serious this is, but I'll give you a warning this time." Stephanie walked back out with Rosa beside her as the crowd went wild, chanting 'Lucy' and 'Frenzy' and what I also believed was 'Lenzy'. Nikki and Brie looked gutted and screamed out to Steph, who ignored them. Frenzy jumped up and down and cheered, celebrating with the crowd. Nikki looked over at Frenzy with evil eyes and jumped her, knocking them both to the floor. She grabbed Frenzy's head and hit it against the mat over and over again before punching her in the head. Brie ran over and began kicking her while Nikki was attacking her.

A primal scream erupted across the arena as Paige's music played. She ran down the ramp and slid into the ring, throwing Brie out of the ring before grabbing Nikki and throwing her off Frenzy and kicking her in the face. Nikki slid out of the ring and grabbed Brie by the arm, pulling her up the ramp. Paige helped Frenzy up and raised her arm up to celebrate the victory.

"I'll see you at Royal Rumble." She said to Frenzy, and the programme cut to an ad break.

*Karma's a bitch eh @bellatwins? See you at #RoyalRumble... Oh no wait... ;)* I posted up on social media as soon as it was finished. I rewound the TV, paused it at the exact moment Paige kicked Nikki in the face and took a picture. Then rewound a little more and took a picture of Brie being thrown out of the ring.

*And they said chivalry was dead. @RealPaigeWWE @BellaTwins* and attached the two pictures. Within a minute Paige had reposted it and replied.

I smiled as I took another sip of my wine. I thought that would have been harder to watch than it was. I actually quite enjoyed watching it from a fan's perspective. My phone vibrated on the bed and Thomas's name flashed up.

"Hey Tom." I said, a smile instantly appearing on my face.

"Hey Babe. How are you feeling?" He asked. My heart began to melt. I couldn't fathom just why this man was so nice to me all the time, even after I'd got up and left to go and wrestle half way around the world.

"Better thank you. I watched the show and it wasn't as bad as I thought. If anything, I just feel more determined to get back into it."

"That's great! I'm glad you're feeling that way. I had a feeling it'd get you down." He said, lowering his tone.

"Me too, but luckily it was alright. Hopefully I can begin training again tomorrow and get myself ready." I smiled.

"Fingers crossed. Remember though, Luce, if you can't do it don't force it. I don't want you to get hurt even more." He said caringly.

"I know, babe. I'll only do what I can. I'm going to get some rest though, I need to see if I can train tomorrow. I love you. Thank you for everything." I said back, yawning into my free hand.

"Of course, I'll let you get your beauty sleep. I love you! See you soon." He said. "I look forward to watching you in Royal Rumble." He said in a laugh.

"And become your new Divas Champion." I said confidently.

"Alright then!" He laughed. "Goodnight Lucy, Divas Champion."

"Goodnight Tom."
