Chapter 29 - Storylines

How many times was I going to upset Seth to his face? This time was worse, too, because I knew he liked me. Now, I never said no but I did say it was best not to get caught in a web of feelings when he had Leighla, so maybe this time he wasn't hurting so much? Ah, who am I kidding? He probably hates me.

I stared in the mirror and smiled half-heartedly at the reflection that stared back at me. Despite the injury I had gained today, Roman had successfully persuaded me to go out with him. After Seth shouted at Roman and stormed off, the part of me that always felt bad and wanted to help made me talk to him. We discussed our problems more and apologised numerous times and finally felt happy with each other. We decided we wouldn't hold what had happened against each other and we would put it behind us and start again. We were going to try and be a proper couple. I'd put on a beautiful white blouse and black skirt and paired it with a pair of black heels, making sure I did my makeup well enough to hide most of the injury. I was finally ready for my first proper date with my boyfriend.  I was just about to head out of the door when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I said, scared at seeing Mark's name on the caller id.

"Hi Lucy, do you have a second?" My stomach dropped and my palms began to sweat. What have I done? I quickly opened my front door and saw Roman eagerly awaiting me in his car. I pointed at the phone and mouthed Mark and he nodded.

"Sure!" I said, my voice shaky with nerves. Did Seth go and complain about me? Did someone see Roman and I together and say it was unprofessional?

"Great! Well don’t worry its nothing bad." He said and I breathed a huge sigh of relief. "Now I'm having a meeting with everyone about it tomorrow but I wanted you to hear it first, it's going to take a lot of planning and befriending on your part." He continued, building up my nerves again. "We're postponing the Bella’s segment with you and Frenzy because Nikki has hurt her leg, so Creative have come up with a quick fill in storyline."

"Oh no! I hope Nikki is alright!" I said, knowing how deflating an injury can be on your self-confidence and career, but what could this new storyline be?

"She's fine, and still looking forward to fighting you after her recovery." Mark laughed. "Anyway, the fill in storyline is still going to be about you and Paige but the twist is we're putting you and her in mixed tag team battles!" There was a pause at the end of the phone as I tried to digest what he had just said to me while he waited for an answer.

"Mixed tag team?" I repeated. "How?"

"You'll get the script tomorrow but basically the whole world knows about Paige and Dean..." I already knew where he was going with this. "So at a contract signing for the title match, you're going to attack her and Dean will come to her rescue..." Mark said and with every word he sounded more excited.

"Ok, so where does that leave me?" I said, knowing that it was to do with couples so he must mean Roman would come to my aid. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, pulled off the lid and took a sip from it.

"Well, it'll be Seth." I choked on the water I had just sipped and ran over to the sink, spluttering up the refreshment.

"Seth?" I managed to croak out, still bent over the sink.
