It's been five days since Markus told me he cared about me, and each day he didn't stop calling me to check up on me and I didn't know how to feel. He was still in Dubai but would be returning to the States in two days and for some reason, I felt happy to see him.

Today I would be seeing the finished work of what Lola did to my bakery and I was so excited. I told her to surprise me because I saw what she had done to her brother's place and I knew without a doubt in my heart that she wouldn't disappoint me.

We have been communicating about things like the colors I wanted, I'd already told her that I wanted it to be like a bakery and breakfast spot with a homely feeling so I expect everything to be perfect.

" Ma'am, what would you like for lunch?" One of the maids asked as I took a seat on the dining chair, I'd noticed that for the past two days, my eating had become something else, I now had the appetite of a whale and at the same time I had become quite selective with what I eat, so now they always ask me before making anything for me.

" I have been eating so much of late and I don't think I have a full appetite right now, so I think that salad would be okay, it's healthy after all," I said to her as she smiled at me then went ahead to prepare what I asked.

I was still having my salad when I got a message from Lola that she was ready and I couldn't help but smile.

As soon as I finished I took my bag and headed outside the house then I got into the car as the driver took off.

When I stopped outside the location, for a moment I thought I was in the wrong address until I saw a young lady step out of the building with a smile on her face, with the way she was looking at me I knew she was Lola.

" Oh my god," I said as I looked around in awe, this was beyond what I expected.

" Oh my god, I'm so sorry, nice to meet you," I said as I brought my hand for a handshake and she took it.

" I'm glad you like it," This was just outside and I was already in love with it. I could already catch a glimpse of the inside because of the glass door and it was wow.

The outside was filled with a lot of beautiful flowers with vines going up. It looked like something out of a fantasy novel, maybe this would be a mystical bakery. This made my bakery totally unique.

" This is just so beautiful, let's go inside," I said, unable to seize the smile that painted my face.

" After you ma'am," she gestured towards the door and I went in,

" I'm just speechless, this is just perfect, you're good with what you do, all I need to do now is start getting everything I need to start the bakery, I'll have to contact an HR company." I couldn't stop looking at the whole place, the choice of furniture was just right I just couldn't believe that all this was happening, my dream of opening a bakery was finally coming to pass.

" Thank you so much for this, I hope to work with you more in the future," I said to her as we stepped outside the building and I was leaning on my car.

" I'm glad you like it, nothing brings me more joy than meeting my client's expectation,"

" Actually you beat my expectations," And it wasn't a lie, from the moment I stepped into Hardin's house and saw what she did there, I knew she was good at what she did.

" Once again, thank you for choosing me,"

" It's a pleasure, by the way, we should celebrate over lunch, I suddenly want to eat shrimp," I said and she chuckled, for someone who wanted just salad, well things took a twist.

" Any spot you have in mind?" She asked and I shook my head in a no.

" I know a place."

When we got to the spot Lola suggested, I got out of the car and we both headed inside. I was greeted with the smell of different delicacies and my mouth couldn't help but water. I think I'll have to add this place to one of my favorites.

We took a seat while Lola took a look at the menu, I already knew what I wanted, I didn't have to check.

" I'll have a burger and a cup of coffee," I looked at her as if she was weird.

" Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked with a raised brow and I just shrugged. Not everyone could eat as much as my pregnant self, so it shouldn't surprise me.

Our order came and we ate in silence. Well, I ate and Lola tried to make small talk but I was too busy to speak.

" Thank you so much for today,"

" Well I try my best to please my customers, by the way, if you need help in hiring the right employees, I've got someone," she said as she brought out her phone from her bag and scanned through it before my phone pinged indicating that a message was sent to me.

" I've sent you the number,"

" That's so nice of you, well enjoy the rest of your day," I said and then I entered the car and the driver drove off.

I felt so light in my heart like I had been fulfilled. Today, there was a piece in my life that just fell into place.

The driver parked in front of the house and I got out heading inside.

" Rena please can you come to my room?" I asked as soon as she picked up my call, I needed someone to share this good news with.

" Jane, you sent for me," Rena said as she entered my room and shut the door behind her.

" Guess what?" I asked and she just looked at me in confusion.

" Uhm, you know your child's gender?" She more of ask than guessed, and I couldn't help but laugh.

" No not that," I shook my head.

" My bakery will be opening soon, I had an interior designer remodel the whole place and it turned out so perfect," at my news her face lit up and she rushed to sit beside me on the bed.

" Wow this is such good news, I'm happy for you Jane, you've always wanted to have your own bakery and now you do, I'm so happy for you," there wasn't a doubt in Rena's eyes that she was truly happy for me.

" There's something you'll have to do for me," I said as I took hold of her hands in mine.

" What's that?"

" I don't think there's anyone I trust more than you right now, you've done a lot of things for me, even if you've known me only for about five months, you've done something that even my mom or dad wouldn't do for me. So please I would like you to work with me in my bakery, I promise to pay you well."

For a moment she just looked at me and she seemed deep in thought, I wondered what was going on in her head, maybe she didn't like the idea of working with me.

" It's okay if…" I was about to say, but she cut me off…

" I'll work for you, it's such an honor," We both smiled at each other glad that we were in each other's life.

I have still yet to tell Markus about my plan to open a bakery. I was tempted to tell him when he called me earlier tonight but I refrained, I'll tell him in person.

I changed into my night dress as I got into bed and pulled the cover to my chin. It was a bit cold tonight. I was unable to sleep because my mind was just filled with images of how my bakery would be. But somehow I managed to sleep.

I was awoken by the thick smell of smoke, my eyes felt so heavy but I couldn't ignore how the whole place smelt so I opened my eyes and was shocked to see that my room was covered in smoke and where there was smoke it meant there was…

Fire!!

" Oh my god, where did the fire come from?" I quickly got up from the bed with the bed cover and started making my way to the door but there was no way for me to because there was fire everywhere.

" Help!!" I shouted, it was a reflex I wasn't sure anyone was going to hear me.

I tried to move to the left but there was still fire to my left, to my right, I was confused.

My phone, I have to get a hold of my phone.
