Chapter 2

Denden's POV

We spent the next few weeks trying to locate her. Ilang araw na lang bago magresume ang praktis ng finally nahanap at pinuntahan namin siya. We saw her earlier during the finals game pero she keeps a really low profile so minsan hindi namin sya macontact. It took some digging para mahanap namin sya physically.

"Ace!" I called out her name as Bea and I walked towards her. Agad naman siyang tumigil at lumingon.

"Den? Bea? What are you doing here?" Tanung niya.

"Looking for you. Ang hirap mong hagilapin ha." Nakatawang wika ni Bea sabay tapik sa balikat ni Ace.

"Good to see you. Can we talk?" Tanung ko sa kanya pagkatapos ko syang yakapin. I forgot how tall she is.

"Of course, tara sa office ko." Yaya ni Ace.

Pinapasok kami ni Ace sa office nya at pinaupo sa couch na malapit sa mini kitchen. Malawak ang office nya. Sa isang sulok malapit sa may bintana kung saan makikita mo ang playing field, nakapwesto ang standing desk niya. Sa likod nito ay may malaking whiteboard na may katabing pin up board. Hindi ko maiwasang mapangiti ng makita kong nakapaskil ang picture ng team namin kasama sya at ang dati nyang university team.

"Nice office." Wika ni Bea.

"Gusto nyo ng drinks? Water, coffee, tea, juice?" Tanung nya.

"Water please." Sabay naming sagot ni Bea.

Inabot nya sa min ang mga baso ng tubig bago naupo sa harap namin ni Bea.

"Congrats by the way! Great game! Kamusta pala si Thang?" Tanung nya.

"Actually, that's why we're here." Umpisa ni Bea.

She had a confused look on her face. "Ha? Di ko gets." Wika nya.

"We need you." Wika ko.

"We need another libero for the next conference habang nagrerecover pa si Thang. And we think you're our best option." Dugtong ni Bea.

"Wait.. what? Guys I haven't played in any serious games since Uni and I'm certainly not a pro." Sagot nya.

"We know pero we also know na naglalaro ka pa din." Sagot ko.

"Yeah, for company games yes pero hanggang dun lang. Look guys I'm flattered, pero I don't think I'm who you are looking for." Sagot nya.

"Actually, you are exactly what we are looking for." Sagot ko, sabay tingin kay Bea at turo sa picture na nasa wall.

Lumingon si Ace sa tinuturo ko.

"Passion. Passion is why we're here. We haven't met anyone as passionate as you. Look we've known you since Uni days and your passion for the game and your passion for CMFT is the very reason why we think you're the perfect fit for the team." Wika ni Bea.

"I don't know guys. I don't want to let you down." Sagot nya.

"Look just think about it, please? Think about it over this weekend. And kung hindi talaga we'll understand." Wika ni Bea. Tumango lang si Ace.

Kita ko ang kaba sa mga mata nya. She's torn. Kaya nilapitan ko sya at hinawakan sa pisngi habang nakatingin ng diretso sa kanyang mga mata.

"Look, I know it's scary pero there's no one else I trust to do this with me... with us... more than you. I believe in you. So please promise me that you'll at least really trust your gut on this?" I pleaded with her. She nodded. And I hugged her.

Gumagabi na din kaya nagpaalam na kami kay Ace pero bago kami makalabas ng pintuan ay niyakap namin siya ulit.

"I really hope I'd see you on Monday at training Ace." Wika ni Bea habang nakahawak sa balikat ni Ace.

"If you decide na hindi talaga, promise me you'll still be there for all the games?" Tanung ko sa kanya. She nodded and with that I kissed her cheek.
