Chapter 17

Bea's POV

She's standing right there in a white dress. Smiling. Until he appears to wrap his arm around her. Tapos naglakad sila palayo sa kin. I wanted to chase them. I tried, pero I can't. Physically, it felt like I'm pinned right where I'm standing. She looked back, there was something in the way she looked at me that made me feel na she was hoping I would go after her.

"Wait"! I shouted.

"Don't leave me, please, Jho don't leave me" I begged.

"Bei! Bei!" I heard her voice. She was shaking me awake.

"Bei! Wake up!" Wika nya.

I opened my eyes and there she was towering over me. Basa ang mga mata ko.

"Nananaginip ka. Sumisigaw ka in your sleep so I had to wake you up. Ok ka lang?" Nag-aalalang tanung nya.

I sat up and niyakap ko sya ng mahigpit. Di ko na napigilan ang mga luha ko.

"Hey hey its okay. I'm right here." Wika nya.

Parang bumalik lahat ng sakit the first time she left me. Alam kong panaginip lang yun pero it was very close to the truth and it felt very real. At the same time, I felt confused. Why am I dreaming of Jho when she's right next to me and Cait is the reason kung bakit ako nandito in the first place?

Beatriz! Get yourself together man!

"Sorry." Mahinang wika ko nung nakalma na ko.

"Are you going to tell me about it?" Tanung nya.

"I saw this girl walking away from me. Hindi klaro, yun lang naalala ko." I lied. I can't tell her na sya ang nasa panaginip ko. We're just getting back on track and I don't want to rock the boat.

"Hay naku Bei, kakaoverthink mo lang yan. Halika ka na nga, I need to get some food into you bago ka pumunta sa practice at baka pag nakita ka nila Tita and Tito mamaya e sabihin nila pinabayaan na naman kita." Biro nya as she dragged me out to the kitchen.

"Tocilog or tapsilog?" Tanung nya.

"Jho pwede bang cereal na lang? Wala akong gana kumain e." Sagot ko.

"Isabel Beatriz Paras De Leon, there is no way na mag-aalmusal ka ng cereal under my watch lalo na at nararamdaman ko na that you are planning to skip lunch." Wika nya.

Hindi ko maiwasang mapangiti. It's been a long time since narinig ko na sabihin nya ang buong pangalan ko ng ganun. I kinda missed that about her. The way she puts me in my place na walang hesitation. Kahit sa harap pa ng family ko confident sya na pagalitan ako.

"Naku Beatriz, yang mga ngiti mo. Kung di ka pipili pwes ako na pipili for you." Wika nya.

Niyakap ko sya from behind and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you." Bulong ko.

Tumigil sya sandali and she touched my face.

"Sige na, magshower ka na habang nagluluto ako para hindi ka malate sa practice." Wika nya.

Sumunod naman ako sa bilin nya.

After ko magshower, kumain kami ng breakfast at tutulungan ko sana sya magligpit pero nagpumilit sya na wag na daw dahil baka mahuli ako sa practice. Hinatid nya ko sa pinto and bago umalis I kissed her cheek.

"Thank you for everything Jho." Bulong ko.

I smiled and got in the car. Hindi ko na hinintay ang sagot nya. Between us I've always been the more expressive one. Pero her acts of service, never failed to make me feel her love.
