Ace's POV

Standing here with Cait, holding her hand. It's unbelievable. I used to watch from the sidelines. I used to admire everything from afar. But now I'm here. Kasama ko na sila. Kasama ko siya. The girl that's occupied my mind since Uni is holding my hand in public.

Mahika plays while we're doing the warm-up.

She started singing the bridge in my ear. Hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti.

"Miss Viray, bakit ngayon ko lang narinig na kumakanta ka?" Biro ko.

"Ngayon lang ba?" Biro nya.

"Siguro kasi never ko pa din nasabi sa yo na the first time I ever heard this song, ikaw ang naisip ko. Lalo na yung bridge." Bulong nya.

"Oh babe, don't tease me, baka di ko mapigilan na halikan ka right now." Bulong ko.

She smiled and kissed my cheek.

"Behave. Hanggang dyan lang muna Caputo." Bulong nya sabay kindat.

It's now stuck in my head.

After five tight rounds we won the game and I was awarded POG. I was being interviewed by the host while the team were listening from behind me.

"Ace, first off congratulations! 48 excellent digs. How does it feel to be named POG on your debut in the PVL?" Tanung ng host.

"Sobrang humbled po. We all worked hard for this so to be named POG I know I owe it to the team." Sagot ko.

"Ace, I'm sure you will now be on a lot of people's radar. I'm sure they'd like to know what inspires you?" Dagdag na tanung nya.

"This family po, I wouldn't be here without them." Wika ko.

"Is there anyone in particular?" Dagdag niya.

Napangiti ako. Cait and I talked about this. We were never going to hide anything between us pero hindi din namin kailangan magexplain ng todo.

"Ang masasabi ko lang po dyan, what you see is what you get, in and out of the court." Wika ko.

"Ay wow mukhang may pa-mystery. Pero I think I know what you mean. Anyway, thank you for joining us dito sa POG corner, congratulations again for the first win and being POG. Back to you Ate Mela." Pagtatapos ng host.

"Thank you po." Wika ko as I waved and walked away.

I can overhear the commentators as I was walking off the court and back to my teammates.

"That's Ace Caputo of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. What did you think of Ace winning POG on her debut in the PVL Neil?" Wika ni Mela.

"I think deserve na deserve nya Mela. Yung depensa nya sa floor was almost flawless. I mean we have to admit Cignal gave Choco Mucho a run for their money but Choco Mucho really dominated in the end. As a team, I think they have really worked hard on their connections and it really shines through especially on that final rally, the Ace-Deanna-Cait connection was pure magic, not discounting the blocking defense and attacks shown by their Captain Bea and of course all the points they racked up as a team through their spikers." Wika ni Neil.

"You're right Neil. Also, what about those stats? 48 excellent digs in a single game." Dagdag ni Mela.

"Yes Mela, I think she is now tied as the record holder with Dawn Macandili for the most number of excellent digs in a single game." Wika ni Neil.

"Amazing debut for this Titan! I think we also need to mention one lesser known fact about Ace Caputo was that she played as a libero for PUP. I heard that's actually where they based her recruitment into the Flying Titans." Dagdag ni Mela.

"Actually, parang narinig ko nga yan Mela, I think she was known as Ace 'invisiwall' Caputo." Sagot ni Neil.

"Yes, that's what I heard too. So I guess we really have to watch her progress as she continues to play for CMFT. Anyway, the teams for the next game are here, let's bring it back to our hosts on the floor to see what's happening." Pagtatapos ni Mela.
