As soon as the plane landed, we
went straight to emergency department to meet with the doctor so he could perform our ultrasound, hopefully easing my anxiety in the process.

Though it's only been forty-eight
hours, I've seen a different side to Mahir. Truth be told, he was always like this-loyal, protective, considerate of my well-being-but it all feels different since I know he's thinking about the baby, too. He's already thinking and acting like a father. It makes me feel safe, like we can handle this new adventure.

He even managed to get us an appointment with the best obstetrician in the country on such short notice. Mahir wouldn't tell me how he did it, but the doctors looked a little tense and think it had a lot to do with him threatening the poor man.

"Calm down, little wolf."

That was the thousandth time that Mahir had told me to try and relax but really it wasn't helping me at all. Usually, Mahir is really good at comforting me and calming my nerves, but I also don't think I've ever been this nervous before.

His hand wrapped around mine, pulling it upto his lips and placing a soft kiss on the back of it. I smiled weakly, feeling clammy and anxious as ever. Even Mahir told me not to, I stayed up all night looking up everything and anything related to ultrasounds and what to expect at my first one.

"I don't think I can do this Mahir." I choke out the words, my eyes fixing on Mahir's as he give my hand another kiss.

"You can do this, Bella. And I'm right here. I told you not to look stuff up." Mahir gave me a crooked smile and I do feel the slightest bit relaxed just by his presence.

Mahir had already cleared his schedule for the rest of the day to spend time with me after this appointment. We haven't told anyone about my pregnancy except for Shaina who already knows. I tell you that girl is psychic. Mahir and I decided that we'll tell our families during our family lunch next weekend.

It's a family tradition that both Raisinghani and Raghuvanshi gathered at one place to spend a day together. Sometimes Isha and Arnav join us as well.

I sighed, running my hand over my exposed stomach, which was still flat as ever. The ultrasound technician had run to grab something after having set us up in the room. My head was propped against a pillow but I still feel uncomfortable with how my top was rolled up and my jeans unbuttoned. As for Mahir he didn't mind as long as there's no male around fifty radius.

I smiled softly when Mahir placed a kiss on my belly and peered up at me with his lashes, "Everything's going to be fine."

That was the difference between Mahir and me. I hadn't come to terms with the fact that I was pregnant yet. He was excited and happy and I was so glad for that but nothing about me felt pregnant. It was hard for me to except it because I always thought we had more time until we let a child in our family. I wanted more time with Mahir but looks like gods have something else planned.
