Morrigan eyed her accomplices skeptically. They weren't perfect, but she knew that no one would be. She would have to rely on her plan and this time she would have a heavy hand. Besides, they had no choice but to cooperate and follow her instructions to the letter. If they didn't Morrigan would give them such bad luck they would lose everything they have before they died slowly, painfully. She had already explained this to them.
I've manipulated entire armies... now I'm reduced to this.
The crow at her shoulder cawed and Morrigan's eyes flashed. Her dark hair slid over her shoulders as she leaned forward. "Well, then. You understand your assignment. Get it done."
They nodded, eyes wide in fear, before making a fast exit.

You were doing your best to not think about Gabe, same as you had been for the last week. As difficult as it was, you hadn't seen him since your interaction in Bobby's kitchen so it must have been working. You did your best to avoid thoughts of your feelings in general, but your mind still raced at night, running over and over all of your interactions since you had arrived back in this world. You were pleased to hear that Bobby was sending you and the brothers on another hunt. No more burying yourself in research as you had been doing, at least for a little while.
A ghost in a mall, Bobby explained. The mall was half shut down but there were still some stores clinging to their nineties carpet for dear life alongside the food court. The whole building was on the verge of closing completely after a couple of instances of gun deaths. The latest news said that neither the gun used nor the shooter had been found, but all witnesses described the same man.
You and the brothers interviewed three witnesses who said they saw a young man armored and heavily armed, but he appeared out of thin air and disappeared the same way. Sam found an article from the 2000s outlining an attack by a shooter at the mall, at the end of which the shooter killed themselves. The gunman was cremated, but local rumors said the police never found his weapon stash and that he may have hid it somewhere in the mall. There was no true pattern to the ghost shootings.
Now you walked around the mall with the Winchesters, both of them holding an EMF detector. Lame jazz- the kind you hear when on hold for a doctor's office- played through the echo-y halls and into the stores.
"I don't think he hid his guns in a Penney's," you told the brothers as you slowly passed its entrance.
"You never know what's tucked into the corner of the home goods section," Dean joked halfheartedly. You all completed a full lap of the mall with no signal from the EMF readers.
"I think we need to try the basement," you shrugged. "If he really is connected to some hidden weapons cache, it'll be down there."
"Alright." The hand holding Dean's EMF reader fell to his side in defeat. "I think I saw the stairs by the bathrooms."
"Shh," Sam hushed him as an old man in an ill-fitting security uniform walked by. The man was balding and his left hand rested on his beer-belly. You weren't sure if he even registered your existence.
Probably doesn't get paid enough to deal with everything that's been happening. I don't think any mall cop does. He's completely checked out.
"I don't think we have anything to worry about from Paul Blart senior," Dean said, watching the man walk away. "Besides, what's he gonna do? Call the actual cops?"
Sam sighed, then nodded. "Alright, let's go."
Not wanting to look suspicious, Dean packed their green duffel with shotguns, rock salt ammo, salt, and crowbars. Most of the bag was empty so that if a stash of weapons was found it could be carried out of the mall to be destroyed, rather than blowing up a corner of the mall to get rid of the ghost. Sam adjusted the bag on his shoulder as the three of you pushed past the 'Employees Only' sign and entered the stairwell.
