Seokjin's first day at work alongside Jungkook was no small one for him. He'd had a lot of work to do, for which he was grateful, as his body was chafing to go and talk to Jungkook. Just a few minutes or go and look at him for a few seconds. Seokjin even thought it was more torture than anything else.

Being so close to each other but at the same time so far away that even a simple brush of the finger seemed impossible.

Jungkook had pestered Yeonjun and Soobin with messages asking what Seokjin was doing at the company, but the two simply said that Seokjin was stubborn and that they hadn't been able to dissuade him. They advised Jungkook to just watch out for moles in the company who might alert to the fact that the two had 'reunited'.

At the end of the day, Jungkook decided to stay at the company to keep himself busy, because if he went home, he would only think about what Seokjin had done to him, a real torture and temptation.

The employees left the premises group by group. Around 5pm, Seokjin's former secretary, Mrs Kwan, came into Jungkook's office.

"Mr Jeon, I wanted to inform you before I left that Seokjin is still in his office," she said in a worried tone.

Jungkook quirked an eyebrow. "Is everything all right? You seem worried. I know he hasn't left yet, don't worry. I know how to get him to leave and head home."

Mrs Kwan gave a small smile. "Mr Jeon... Seokjin's birthday is coming up."

Jungkook's face grew serious. "And so the anniversary of his parents' death. I spoke to him once and he confided in me that he doesn't like to celebrate his birthday because for him it's not a day to celebrate because he's reliving that hell. Instead he visits his parents' graves and their old house to clean everything thoroughly."

"I wanted to inform you that this year is going to be a little different and I'm worried about him as he must be-" Mrs Kwan couldn't finish her sentence as Seokjin invited himself into Jungkook's office.

"Oh? Mrs Kwan, are you all right? You're still here? Mr Jeon, may I ask why you're keeping an employee here when it's getting late? If you want to stay here, do it alone. Mrs Kwan please go home," Seokjin said.

"Seokjin-Ah, don't worry I was about to leave. I was just stopping by to say something to Mr Jeon," Mrs Kwan explained. She gave an embarrassed smile and said goodbye to the two men before excusing herself.

Jungkook got lost in his thoughts, thinking about what Mrs Kwan might want to say to him before Seokjin walked in. Seokjin saw that Jungkook was engrossed in his thoughts and so discreetly approached to glance at the screen of his laptop to check something. But as he leaned over and stood beside the table, he lost his balance. His first instinct was to grab hold of Jungkook.

Jungkook almost laughed as he gasped, surprised by Seokjin's antics. He had a falsely annoyed expression and his hands grasped Seokjin's waist to help him to his feet. "What are you doing?" asked Jungkook.

Seokjin took advantage of the fact that Jungkook's eyes were riveted on his lips to glance at the screens of Jungkook's devices. He cocked his eyebrows when he saw what he wanted to see. Ah, so that was it. He had put Seokjin in the background on his personal computer.

Seokjin cleared his throat and put on a sassy expression. "My eyes are up here."

Maybe he shouldn't have said that suddenly, because Seokjin lost his balance when Jungkook's eyes landed on his. Even held by Jungkook's hands, his legs gave out and he fell to the ground. Jungkook removed his hands and facepalmed, secretly chuckling as he was endeared by Seokjin.

Jungkook pushed his seat so that he could see Seokjin from a distance. The view was rather splendid, with Seokjin on the floor, making shocked puppy-dog eyes at him. "Stand up," Jungkook demanded. "You need to go home before your family barges in to pick you up themselves. It's time to leave," he added, then got up to collect his things.
