Tossing the stick into the trash, where many others had been before you washed your hands, the warmth of the water barely registering. Numb, you felt completely numb. There was nothing that made you feel more inadequate as a woman then the failure to see that pink plus sign, to conceive. It was really, really frustrating. Walking out of the bathroom you saw Josh, perched on the back of the couch staring anxiously at you. You shook your head, and he let out a sigh. You joined him on the sofa and he slid next to you, wrapping his arms around your body, placing a kiss on the top of your head. "It's going to be fine, we just have to be patient." He whispered softly, his fingers running through your hair. "It's hard." You mumbled in return, burying your face in his shoulder. "I know, but what's meant to be will be." You smiled, "You sound like my mother." You said, causing Josh to scrunch up his face in a mock grimace. "God I hope not!" "Hey!" You said, shoving his shoulder, "My mum is lovely." He nodded, "And you'll be a lovely mum too, don't worry."

George: "We'll try again." At this point you couldn't even handle it. "George you have to stop acting like it's going to fix itself. Your happy go lucky attitude is NOT helping right now." You snapped, walking out of the room. Almost as soon as you said the words you regretted them, he was trying to be strong, be strong for you, George only wanted to make you happy, and you knew it was killing him inside, you both wanted a family more than anything. Turning around you went to apologize, only to see George had followed you. "It's ok." He said, giving you a slight smile before opening his arms to you. You wrapped your arms around his body, burying your face in the cotton of his t-shirt. "You didn't deserve that." You mumbled, grateful that he could always keep you in check. "Well you don't deserve this." George reasoned, "I know you didn't want to Y/N, but I think we're going to have to see a doctor." You nodded, fear gripping your stomach. You didn't want to go to the doctor's, you didn't want to know if something was wrong, if there was something wrong. George gave your hand a reassuring squeeze before giving you a sweet kiss. "Love you." He murmured. "Love you too."

The nurse called. You snapped the issue of Cosmo you were currently holding shut, placing it on the table before making your way towards the smiling nurse, Jaymi in tow. You went through the procedures, getting weighed, your height examined, temperature, blood pressure. "The doctor will be in to see you in a moment." The nurse said, giving you a broad smile before leaving you and Jaymi alone in the waiting room. "Nervous?" Jaymi asked, his hand rubbing your back slowly. "Yeah." You replied, your heart pounding, "Jaymi, what if he says there is something wrong with me?" You stuttered. Jaymi put his hands on either side of your face, "Then we'll adopt, get a surrogate, do ivf, it doesn't matter." You sighed, "But then Jaymi, it really wouldn't be ours." Jaymi shook his head, "Family is not blood, its how you feel. The boys, they're our family, or just the same, right?" You nodded, "Thanks Jay." A knock at the door caused Jaymi to remove his hands as the doctor came into the room. "Good news." She said, "looks like you'll just have to patient, everything came back normal." All at once you smiled, "Thank you, thank you so much."

"Hey, are you listening to me?" Your attention snapped back to JJ who had an eyebrow raised, he followed where your gaze had just been, frowning slightly. "Sweetheart, you really need to stop beating yourself up over this." You ran a hand through your hair, "I know, but it's really hard JJ, knowing we might not ever have any of that." You said, gesturing towards the kids. JJ reached forward, pulling you close to his body. "No, we definitely will. You just went off the pill a month ago." You nodded, "Yeah I know, it just, it makes me nervous." JJ gave you a kiss on the cheek, "Well don't be." He smiled cheekily, "Isn't the trying the best part?" You rolled your eyes, hitting his chest, "You would think that." "Hey I didn't hear you complaining last night, in fact you might've even-" You clamped a hand over his mouth, "Not one more word" You warned, "or I'll make you incapable of having kids, understand?" He nodded, laughing.
