When it's actually Josh you let him have it, watching as he grasps the phone in his small hands and asks where Josh is that day. He'll tell him everything, from what he had for lunch to the things he made out of blocks, but it always ends the same. "When are you coming home, daddy?" he questions, and Josh's heart breaks a little every time he hears it. "I'll be home soon little man," he answers every time, "I promise I'll be there soon."</li>

It makes him being on tour that much harder because you don't want him to feel bad, but he's a huge part of her life and it's so hard without him. The moment he comes home the tension in the house just melts away, and she's the calmest she's been in weeks as he holds her to his chest and sings for her, trying to make up for lost time.</li>

"I miss you, come home soon," she eventually begs, getting a bit teary eyed and making him choke up slightly. "Mommy's food is better but you give the best hugs." Her face scrunches up as she starts to cry and he swears he'll be home soon - he has to.</li>

"He said he'd help with my lego house," "he promised he'd teach me to ride a bike," "I can't read this without him," he demands as they days go on, insisting he can't do anything without his father. Neither of you are sure why he gets so needy, but it makes Jaymi wish the days were shorter so he can come back home to his little family and be the protector he's meant to be.</li>
