The fireplace was still crackling, the last few embers dying slowly but brightly. Sam, sleepy-eyed and tired, stared down at the smaller boy in his arms. Gabe was sucking on his thumb, his face relaxed. He brushed the hair out of his fiancé's face, leaning down to place a soft kiss onto Gabe's forehead.

"My love for you will never die." Sam whispered, cupping Gabe's face and rubbing his thumb gently across his cheek.

A loud THUMP at the door woke Gabe up, leaping up and stumbling slightly from Sam's arms and staring at the handle, which was turning. He glanced at Sam, a flicker of seriousness from the night before going across his face, before the door swung open and their squad from corridor 666 fell in.

"What the fuck." Gabe said, all solemnity disappearing from his face and being rapidly replaced with bright-eyed humour.

"Charlie tracked your phones!" Emma grinned, raising a smirking Charlie's hand into the air.

"Why though?" Sam said nervously. Are they here to prank us or something? If so, fuck this shit I'm out.

"We know that the forty-first thing on Gabe's bucket list is to jump off the Empire State Building." Lucifer giggled. "So we wanted to join in."

"I didn't." Michael offered from the back of the group.

"Shh Mikey, no one cares."

"I don't want to die either?" Kevin spoke up anxiously. "But you're going to make me do it anyway, aren't you?"

"Got it in one, Kevie." Charlie snickered, throwing her arm around the nervous boy.

Sam and Gabe exchanged a glance, before following the others as they crowded back out of the door again.

"Wow!" Dean chuckled nervously as they all lined up at the edge, parachutes on their backs and hands clenched. "We're so far up! Anyone els- anyone having any second thoughts?"

"No, Dean. Not everyone is a nonce like you are." Cas said.

"Oh, shit." Gabe covered his mouth with his hand, pissing himself. "Fucking destroyed."

"Let's go!" Lucifer screamed, and launched himself over the edge, pulling Michael with him with his hand.

Charlie and Emma went next, shoving Balthazar with them, who screeched.

"Push me!" Gabe giggled at Sam as the others jumped too.

Sam snorted and pushed his fiancé off the edge, stepping off as Gabe fell, the wind rushing through his hair and his clothes flapping around, exuberant whoops of delight ringing in the air around them.

The group returned to the hospital, Sam and Gabe having finished their tour of the world, and all settled in the Banter Room to mess around, the tv blaring in the background.

"Shut the fuck up, Luci."

"You shut up, ovary girl!"

"Shut UP, dick boy!"

"Both of you shut up." Sam said suddenly, sticking his foot out to stop the spinning armchair hanging from the ceiling, with both Lucifer and Emma squashed together in it. "Look at the tv!" He ignored the glares sent his way from above him.

Everyone gazed at the plasma screen in the corner.

"LOOK, IT'S US!" Bethany screeched.

The news was on, and a video of the squad falling from the Empire State Building was playing. The camera dramatically zoomed in on each of their faces, and uncontrollable sniggering sounded across the room.

"I hate all of you." Lucifer muttered as the camera zoomed in on his face in particular and everyone laughed louder.

Night had fallen, and still everyone was wide awake, and now in the cafeteria. The room was empty, all the other patients in their rooms, but they took advantage of the emptiness, projecting Mario Kart onto the blank wall ahead of them and racing each other on Rainbow Road.

"Fuck." Gabe said as Balthazar pushed him off the road and into quicksand in Dry Dry Ruins.

"YES! I AM A LITERAL QUEEN!" Charlie cheered as she came first, flinging her controller into the air. She sashayed away to the door, grinning as she told them that she was 'away for some cheeky snacks'.

.

.

BANG.

Gabe's first thought was, what now, for fuck sake?

Then came, shit.

Each entrance to the cafeteria was occupied by people clad in black. Guns were in holsters worn by each of them, and a guy standing in the main entrance had his gun out, pointed up. He took a step towards them, lowering his gun to point at the group.

Everyone scrambled up, backing into a tight circle in the centre of the cafeteria. Gabe fumbled for Sam's hand.

"Where is your friend Charlie Bradbury?" The guy said, his voice hard but polite.

And he sounded... Canadian?

"She isn't here." Emma spoke up. Her eyes were narrowed at the now-familiar people in black. "You're the Canadian mafia, aren't you?"

The guy with the gun laughed. The sound in the tense, frightening atmosphere was chilling. Gabe shivered, goosebumps rising on his arms.

"Yes. Now, let me ask again: where is your little girlfriend? We need to... sort out a few things with her." The guy twirled his gun in his hands, a menacing smirk twisting onto his face.

"You won't hurt her." Emma snarled. "I won't let you."

"I can do whatever I like to her. I'm her boss. Once a boss, always a boss..." The guy chuckled darkly.

"You touch her, and I'll kill you!" Emma started towards the guy, fists clenched, but Lucifer and Michael pulled her back.

The guy strolled towards her, stopping right in front of her and pressing his gun into her chest. Emma stared back at him with hard eyes.

"I know she's here. I saw all of you together on the tv. I just want to know where she is, and I'll let all of you go, unharmed."

"No way in hell." Emma growled.

The guy nodded towards two of his mafia members, who advanced and grabbed Emma. She yelled, twisting and kicking as they dragged her along the room towards the doors.

"Oi!" Gabe shouted. "Fat-ass!"

The guy with the gun turned, a frown on his face.

"Let my friend go or I swear to God I'll fuck you up -"

"Him too." The guy said, and two more came towards Gabe, dragging him out of the room too, but not before the trickster had winked at Lucifer, Bethany, and Michael, mouthing "I'll look after her."

But he didn't see Sam's panicked expression as he watched the guy he loved being dragged away into danger.

"You and me will have a little talk." The guy with the gun said, smirking, as Gabe and Emma were thrown onto the ground in a dark room, the doors slowly swinging shut behind them.
