It was all dark.

Am I blind?

I couldn't see a thing.

Has all my senses stopped?

Oh wait, I could hear something.

All I could feel is myself sitting upright in a hospital bed. I could hear people. But mostly, I could hear a voice that I've loved for years. A voice that I know will never break me.

Why am I wearing a blindfold? All I can think of is: I'm blind, aren't I?

What will happen to me? What if I can't see that beautiful face of his?

I felt the tears run down my cheeks. I know that I'm crying. But what am I crying about?

I heard people run around me.

"What happened?" Everyone asked.

I didn't answer.

"Wh-what's wrong?!" That. That concerned voice of his. I loved that. Yet I missed that.

I felt the tears stain in my cheek as someone took my hand and caressed it.

Is it you?

All I heard was two people's conversation. It was the only thing I could understand.

"How are his eyes?"

"It's fine, don't worry."

"Can he still see?"

"Yes, of course. But... it's all black and white."

"So... the world is black and white to him?"

"Yes."

"What if he doesn't love me anymore?"

"He will. Plus, you're still the same anyways. You'll just be in black and white."

"Black is cold."

"So are you."

"Is that a compliment or an insult?"

"Neither. Anyways, I have to sign some papers so I can release him."

"Please do. I don't want him to lose his eyes."

"Like I told you, he's not blind."

"But what if he is?"

"Um... you have to teach him."

"Teach?"

"Teach how beautiful the world is."

"Are his eyes still red?"

"Yes. Nothing changed except his vision's color."

"I swear, I'd miss those red eyes of his if it were gone."

"Yes, I know, they're gorgeous. I have to go now."

My eyes... are red? I tried to shake my head... did anyone notice me?
