He was right there. Sitting, staring into your eyes while squeezing your hand. Neither of you made a move until you looked at his hand that was clenching yours. He immediately averted, using the hand and scratched the back of his head. He looked shy for once, he was blushing. You couldn't help but smile and let out a little giggle.

Sitting up, you felt like there was something missing. Something that was left out. You reached to touch the skin below your collarbone, it wasn't there. "M-my necklace..." you stuttered, a sense of alarm in your tone.
"Don't worry." You heard Jungkook say as he rummaged inside the pocket of his pants. He pulled out a long silver necklace from his pocket, the round locket dangling and covered in dirt. "I picked it up after all that... madness."

You tried to smile after seeing the sight of him holding onto your silver locket but a sudden stuck of ripping pain on your cheek made you wince instead. Lifting your hand to the spot where it hurt, you felt a large scar across your cheek, a slight sensation of pain as you touched it.

Jungkook looked down, not making any eye contact with you, "I'm sorry..." he suddenly apologized.

Blinking, you were dumbfounded. You couldn't help but just stare at him, you had no idea how to respond.

"You're hurt because of me," he said. "I'm sorry."

With his head down, he made his face meet the bed. He couldn't look at you without having the feeling of guilt going through him. It was silent for a while and you still didn't know what to say. Seeing Jungkook like that just made you want to hug him, you didn't give a single care about your scare, all because your search was finally over.
You leaned forward, wrapping your arms around him, his dark hair tickling your neck a bit. It was a bold move for a girl like you but right now, you didn't care.

"Aren't you mad?" he asked without lifting up his head, his voice a bit muffled.

You shook your head. Why would I be mad at the guy who ended up saving and taking care of me? You thought, not able to say it aloud to him.
Jungkook lifted up his body and you sat back up on the bed. The necklace came back into your vision as he wrapped his arms around your neck, clasping it securely. He averted his hands and took off his own necklace. The key.
Without a single sign of hesitating, he took your locket and inserted in the key in the hole. Twisting it, the locket clicked open.

"No way..." Jungkook said in disbelief.
Taking your opened necklace you read the message inside. "Don't be trapped in someone else's dream. Together, we are bulletproof." Reading the words carefully this time, you let out a little giggle.
Jungkook was taken aback by your sudden action. "Why are you laughing?"
You looked at him with a smile on your face, still holding on tightly onto the necklace. "I just realized how corny this sounds."
The boy pouted, crossing his arms like a little stubborn kid. "It's not corny."
"It is... but I still love it."
Jungkook sat on the edge of the bed, his own necklace in the palms of his hands. "It took me this long to finally find you."
"Y-you didn't stop, didn't you?"
"No!" he answered, a little too quickly. "I-I mean, well... yeah..." he said, becoming a little flustered, a side of him that you'd never thought you'd see despite his image. "I couldn't stop. I knew I was going to find where you are someday."
"And you did," you smiled at him.
"After ten years..." you both said in unison as if your words were scripted.

The two of you giggled a bit, a bit surprising that the two of you were getting along very well compared to the first time that you met him a few weeks ago.

"Jungkookie, I'm home!" a female voice suddenly echoed from downstairs.
The boy suddenly had a confused expression on his face. He seemed a bit startled hearing his mother's voice. "I thought she wouldn't be home for a week."

The two went down the stairs to only meet Jungkook's mother with plastic bags and boxes surrounding her. Her eyes widened the moment she saw your face while coming down the stairs with Jungkook. Before you knew it, she was already in front of you at the foot of the stairs, surprised at your dirtied and scarred appearance.

She held your chin with her hands, tracing your scar. "Oh my goodness Ji Hyun, what happened? What have you been up to?"
"I was running!" she suddenly answered.
"In the woods," Jungkook added.
"And a tree scratched me," you added, trying to make the story as possible as it could it be.
Confusion was written all over Minseo's face but she decided to let it slide, for now. She grabbed your arm and began dragging you back up to the stairs without a word. The moment the two of you reached the top, she looked down at Jungkook who stood frozen. "Jungkook-ah, be a dear and put all the groceries away and just put the other ones in my room," she demanded nicely.
Jungkook nodded, "Yes ma'am," he saluted and began grapping the plastic bags on the floor, making his way into the kitchen.

Minseo took you to the bathroom, not even bothering to close the door behind her. She asked politely for you to sit on the counter near the sink while she opened a wooden cabinet filled with ointments and medications.

Grabbing a bottle of ointment in a brown glass bottle and a Q-tip, she turned to face you. "Okay, this might sting a little but it'll help the heeling."
You nodded slightly. The moment she dipped one side of the Q-tip into the bottle, she gently grazed the ointment along your scar. You couldn't help but wince a little. "Thank you." You said, almost out of the blue which made Minseo tilt her head and smile.
"Are your parents back home from their trip?" she suddenly questioned.
"I - ow!"
"Sorry."
"Wait, what do you mean from their trip?"
"You didn't know? They told me they were going to Italy for a short business trip."
You scoffed at her answer, a bit surprised at your actions. "Figures. No wonder why they didn't even worry where I went after like three days of being gone."
Oddly, she smiled after hearing what you said. Continuously twisting the cap back on the bottle, she opened the cabinet and neatly placed it inside and disposed the Q-tip in the garbage nearby. "You know, you remind me a bit of myself when I was young."
"How so?" you asked out of curiosity.
"Why don't we talk about it downstairs with some snacks and drinks?" she smiled and motioned you to follow her from behind.
