Olivia's POV

I finished up the detailing of the wall by nightfall, Jordan and Carl weren't back yet but I'm sure they will be soon.

As soon as I put my brush down I hear the door open. I get off my knees and walk down the stairs. Jordan and Carl stand there.

"Hey Olivia." Jordan says with a little tone. I smile, she uses that tone when she wants something. I hug her "Hey squirt."

"Can I ask something?" She asks. I nod "Of course." She smiles and lets go of my waist. "Can Carl sleep over?" She asks.

I nod and tussle her hair. She looks up at me and smiles. They go upstairs and I call up to them. "No funny business you two!" I hear a fit of laughter from upstairs.

I walk up and go into my room. What could two teenagers get into? Wait, they're teenagers.

What could've already happened?

Jordan's POV

I laid in bed and Carl was next to me. We were talking until we slowly fell asleep. His arms were wrapped around my waist protectively and he snuggles close to me. He kisses behind me my ear and I giggle.

"Night Jordan." Carl says.

"Night Carl," I yawned as I closed my eyes.

I walked out of mine and Olivia's room. I went downstairs and I saw mom cooking. I looked in the kitchen even more and I saw something that was on the floor that belong there. I picked it up and handed to my mother.

"Here mommy." I said as I handed her the utensil.

She put on a fake smile. I thought that I did something right, but I guess I didn't... She had the pot of hot water and she dumped it over my head.

I shot awake and breathed heavily. I looked at Carl's sleeping form and I sneak out to go get a glass of water from downstairs.

Olivia's POV

I tossed and turned. I fell asleep for a few moment but couldn't fall back asleep for a while after that. I sat up in my bed and tossed the sheets off me.

I was in pyjamas so I wasn't uncomfortable, what did I need to fall asleep. I looked at the painting of me and Jordan on the wall.

It seems like yesterday I ran through the gates of that prison and was greeted with open arms.

I sat on the small window sill facing the outside. I adjusted the pillow so I could lean against the wall.

I stared out to the night sky and sighed. There used to be billions of people staring at the exact same moon, now how many are there?

I just feel a little less lonely staring at the moon. Then it hits me, my father is still out there somewhere.

A tear falls down my face as I think about it. I wipe it away and sigh. I need to do something to take my mind off things.

I heard that Glenn, Eugene, Tara, and some guys named Spencer and Nicholas were going on a run. Maybe I could go with them.

I rubbed my eyes and took one last look at the moon before going to the bathroom. I heard a few creaks in the hallway but I ignored it.

I took off my pyjamas and started a nice warm shower. I wrapped my hair in a towel after and got dressed. Now that I feel much more refreshed maybe I can sleep.

Jordan's POV

After I got my glass of water, I went back to bed. I heard the shower turn on but I think it was just Olivia. I climbed back in bed and sat up.
