"You are unbelievable."

"You're being over dramatic. Again."

"One night!" You yelled, throwing your purse onto the kitchen counter angrily. "I ask for one night where you'll go along with everything, and you can't even do that!"

"I didn't want to go to this thing. I told you I didn't want to go and you made me go, I'm sorry I wasn't all that enthusiastic."

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, you're right!" You cried sarcastically. "It was so ridiculous of me to think that my boyfriend would go to my sister's wedding with me!"

"I don't like going to parties," he muttered, turning away from you and putting his hands on the kitchen table. "You know that."

"This was important to me, Bucky! I literally never see my family anymore and it was a big deal that I went to that wedding tonight!" You continued, your anger beginning to boil over. "And then we go and you told me you'd act normally and you didn't say more than two words to anyone the entire time! My family already feels weird about you and tonight was supposed to make them more comfortable around you!"

"Nobody wanted to talk to me anyway," he said. "I'm so sorry I sat at the bar and kept to myself."

"Bucky, you were horrible! I tried to introduce you to so many people and you were rude to all of them!" You stormed around the island and over to where he stood. "Not to mention that you refused to participate in the only thing my sister asked us to do!"

"I didn't want to participate in the stupid tradition."

"All she wanted was for the couples in the family to dance for one fucking song!" You snapped. "You made me look awful in front of everyone there."

"Yes, and then you started something and you made a scene in front of your family!" Bucky hissed suddenly, turning quickly so that you were face to face. "Do not try and twist this and make it all my fault, Y/N!"

"I wanted one normal night!" You cried, your hands beginning to shake. "I wanted to feel like a normal couple for one night!"

"We're not a normal couple!" Bucky yelled. "Unless working for a secret government agency and having a hunk of metal for an arm is normal, we're never going to be normal!"

"That doesn't have anything to do with it!" You shouted. "Our jobs have nothing to do with what we can do as a couple!"

"Look at me, Y/N! I'm not normal! I'm never going to be fucking normal!" His voice rose even more as grew angrier. "If you want to be in a normal relationship, you shouldn't be in a relationship with me!"

Your eyes stung as tears began streaming down your face and you backed away slightly. "Yeah, maybe I shouldn't be."

Before Bucky had the opportunity to respond, you whipped around and walked out of the kitchen and into the bedroom as fast as you could. You heard Bucky following you, and he was quickly standing in the doorway with his arms crossed. You collapsed onto the edge of the bed and buried your face in your hands, attempting to hide the fact that you were crying. Neither of you said a word for what seemed like hours, the silence only making everything hurt more.

"God, will you just say something?" You choked out after several minutes.

Bucky looked up at you, eyebrows furrowed. "What?"

"Just say something. Yell at me, curse me out, break up with me, just do something other than stand there, please, anything is better than silence," you sobbed. "I can't take the quiet because when no one talks I think. And I think about all the horrible, hypothetical things that could happen when the silence ends. And then that just makes me feel like crap and I scare myself with these hypothetical things. But if there's talking or there's yelling I don't have time to think about the things that are coming they just happen. So please, just do something."

Bucky stared at you silently as you continued to cry, his face softening just a little.

"I don't want to break up," he said quietly, his voice slightly hoarse from yelling. "I don't want you to think I want to break up."

"Then don't act like you're acting, Bucky," you said sharply.

He walked over to you slowly and crouched so that he was at eye level with you. He put his hand on your knee gently and stared into your eyes. You avoided his gaze and stared at the floor, tears still streaming down your face.

"Please, please, don't cry. Y/N, tell me what I can do to help you."

You shrugged helplessly as he moved closer to you. He took one of your hands in his and brushed his lips against it softly before holding it to his chest. You looked up at him finally and bit down on your lower lip. You had no idea how to answer him.

"You know I love you, right?" He asked softly, moving his hand to your cheek.

"It would be nice to hear that sometimes," you mumbled.

"I know, babe, I know. And I'm sorry, I'm shit at telling people how I feel," he responded lowly. "I do love you, Y/N."

"I know."

"I'm sorry I was such a douche tonight. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

A minuscule smile appeared on your face for a moment. "Really? How?"

He rubbed your arm gently and smirked. "I'm sure I'll find a way."

You suddenly felt as if the weight of the world had been lifted off your shoulders. You smiled over at him and ran your hand through his hair affectionately.

"I'm sorry, I really am."

You nodded in understanding.

"I think we both need some sleep."

You nodded again.

Bucky stood up and held his hand out. You took it, and he gently pulled you up. After you stood, you turned around and moved your hair over your shoulder. He got the message and unzipped your dress for you before heading over to the closet to change out of his suit. You picked up one of Bucky's shirts from the ground and pulled it on before climbing into the bed.

Bucky crossed the room and got into bed as well, instantly pulling you close to him. You wound your arms around his torso tightly and rested your head on his chest.

"I'm sorry too," you murmured after a few moments. "I blew everything out of proportion."

"It's okay, Y/N, I get it," he replied, smoothing your hair back gently.

"I love you, Bucky."

"I know," he sighed, shutting his eyes and pressing his lips to your temple. "I love you too."
