The door bell rang, causing cat to wake up and say ding dong and go open the door. "Oh, hi Mrs. Giovanni, come in," said Cat with a smile. Sam walked into the living room to see what was going on and saw the nicely figured woman on the couch. "I am so sorry, I don't mean to be a bother. I had to cancel on Sunday because my husband rescheduled our reservation for a date to tonight," Said the woman. "Woah, Mama," said Sam. She stared at Mrs. Giovanni like she was a big piece of steak slathered in honey barbecue sauce. Cat just smiled at her and said, "No it's fine, at least you're here, have fun on your date." She stepped on Sam's foot while saying it, making Sam hold her whine of pain in. "Thank you, what a sweet girl. Here's my little Mari. Come in Marissa." Said Mrs. Giovanni. Her daughter was just as curvaceous as her mother and wore a small helmet over her head. "Hi," said Marissa. Sam and Cat looked at each other at the same time and looked back at The girl. "Heyyyy..." They both said in unison. "Oh, I forgot to mention, she is seventeen years old and is a special needs child. Make sure you only spoon feed her, she can get a tad cranky without her applesauce." Mrs. Giovanni said. "Oh, uh okay no problem." Said Cat as she grabbed a napkin to wipe the spit from Marissa's bottom lip. "See you at midnight," said Marissa's mother, handing Sam one hundred dollars. "Don't worry, we'll take good care of this lovely lady for you." Sam said, putting an arm around Marrisa. Cat looked at Sam and frowned. Mrs. Giovanni went out of the door in a hurry and closed the door. "So what do you like to do Marissa?" Cat asked the girl softly. "Dance," she simply stated. "Well you two do that. I'm gonna take a nap." Sam waved her arm and left for the bedroom. "Hey, want to see our room?" Cat asked Marissa. "Yes," she replied. Cat led her into the room and showed her side to the girl. "Pretty..." Marissa stated, licking the wall through her helmet. "No no no. You do not lick the walls." Cat said and pulled her back. The girl paused and just sat on the floor. "Are you hungry, Mari?" Cat asked. "Yessss." The girl said happily and bounced on the floor. "Come on, I'll feed you something." She said and led Marissa to the kitchen. Sam was asleep the whole time Cat was in their room, but came out because she was hungry. "Hey, you never feed me like that." Said Sam when she saw Cat spoon feeding Marissa a pizza that has been blended. Cat didn't say a word to Sam and pretended that she wasn't there. "Oh c'mon, no time out while babysitting?" Sam said jokingly. Cat kept ignoring Sam until Marissa noticed. "She say something to you. Why you didn't talk too?" She asked. Cat smiled at her and said "Because she is being a jerk, so I will ignore her until she tells me something." Sam just shrugged and went in the kitchen to grab a slice of pizza and eat it cold. "Oh well, I guess she will never talk to me againnnn..." Sam said with mock sadness. Marissa thought it was real and cried, "Nooooo....talk..." She started to bawl and Cat flashed an angry look at Sam, trying to shush and soothe Marissa back to normal. "My bad." Sam said and shrugged. A few hours later, they put Marissa to bed and went to their room. "Listen Cat, I'm sorry but I have to keep it a secret." Sam said, sitting on Cat's bed next to her. Cat just looked down and frowned. "C'mon...don't be like that. Why is my Kitty Cat being so mean to me?" Sam fake pouted. Cat didn't break but she blushed at the use of a nickname. "Oh I know how to make you talk again." Sam hugged Cat tight, putting her face into the crook of Cat's neck. Cat gasped and trembled, but she still didn't break. Sam frowned and decided to do something extreme. She massaged Cat's shoulders and back, making Cat let out a relaxed sigh. She stopped as soon as Cat seemed to be relaxing and walked to her side of the room. Cat looked at her pleadingly and gave out a small pout. "Ah ah ah, you have to talk before you get the magical fingers." Sam said, smiling mischievously. "Ughhh fine. I hate when you know what I like and use it against me," Cat said and walked over to Sam's side. "I'll make it up to you. If you don't ask who it is for a month, I will tell you," Sam said. "Really!? Yayyy-" Sam put her hand over Cat's mouth to keep Marissa from awakening. "There's a kid, uh, person asleep in there," Sam said in a hushed tone. "Oh yeah, I forgot. So, could I get a massage please?" Cat said, her head on Sam's shoulder. "Yeah okay." Sam said and instantly snapped upright when Cat took her shirt off. "It might be easier without my sweater." Said Cat, going to grab her lotion from her bed. "I...um okay." Sam said, becoming slightly unnerved by how comfortable Cat was with being nearly nude. "Hey, don't freak out over seeing me in a bra. I saw you naked so I should be the uncomfortable one." Said Cat, smiling at Sam. "Yeah, you're right, I'll get this over with." Sam said as Cat came over, laying on her stomach and exposing her back by unhooking her bra. "Geez, getting cozy I see." Sam laughed quietly and Cat giggled. "Well yeah, I'm comfortable with you." She simply said, making Sam blush a little. "Ok let's get started." Sam said. She rubbed the lotion into Cat's back, making goosebumps appear and getting a slight gasp then a small exhale from her. Sam stopped after ten minutes because her hands were getting tired. Cat turned around to ask "hey, why did you stop?" making Sam's eyes trail down to look at an exposed Cat. "your bra is unhooked." Said Sam, staring at Cat. "Oh god! I forgot!" Cat scrambled out of Sam's bed to put her sweater back on. Sam sat there and laughed when she got it on. "You are a meanie, what if Marissa walked in and saw that?" Cat said and laid on her bed. "Oh chill out, she didn't come in so I don't see the problem." Sam said. "You stared at me though." Cat said nervously clutching herself. "You looked at me when I was all out in the open." Sam pointed out. "Yeah, well thanks for the massage. I was stressed out until now." Cat said. "About what...?" Sam asked her. "Just the note. I don't know anyone who could love me this way. It's sweet but if I never find out who wrote it, maybe I won't find true love. And I really would hope it was sincere because I don't want to be hurt again." Cat said, saddened. "I hear you...." Sam said, concerned for her friend. "I went through the same thing. Carly told me that she couldn't be with me and that she could never feel the way I do for her, then she left for Italy." Sam told her friend. "You liked...you like...are you a-" Cat was shocked and stared at Sam with a surprised expression. "Yeah, I am." Sam said blankly. "Ohhh, is that why you stared at Mrs. Giovanni like that?" Cat asked. "I guess," said Sam. "So, when I...wore my cute pajamas, is that why you didn't look at them?" "Yes." Sam answered. "Oh. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." Cat said sadly. "It's my fault for not telling you because I don't want anything awkward between us to ruin our friendship." Sam said. Cat thought about what she said and read the note again. She finally could guess who wrote it. "Oh Sam..." Cat finally said after staring at the note and leaning on Sam's shoulder. "What?" Sam asked, genuinely puzzled. Suddenly, Cat stared straight into Sam's eyes and leaned in slowly. Sam sat completely still and closed her eyes. They were touching noses when the door bell rang. "Ding dong." Said Cat as she headed toward the front door. "Oh you're back, Marissa is asleep." Cat said and woke the girl up, guiding her to her mother. "You two are so responsible, I might be going out again and I'll need babysitters next week." Said Mrs. Giovanni. "Cool, I kinda need you to go now," Sam said, pushing Marissa and her mother out the door. "Well I'm going to bed. G'night." Sam said. "Wait!" Cat shouted, making Sam stop. "I...nothing." Cat said and doubted Sam would ever write such a romantic and somewhat gross note. "Goodnight..." Cat said and slept in her bed for the first time in weeks.
