"What do I do?" Sam asked Nona. "Well, you could serenade her." Nona said and shrugged. "You said you had a good trick for me!" Sam exclaimed, crossing her arms. "Don't you know how to play guitar?" Nona asked. "Well, yeah...but I never played in front people before." Sam said. "Try it, Samantha. Maybe she will forget about the whole fiasco if you play for her." Nona said and gave her a pleading look. "I guess I have no choice." Sam said. She went to the apartment to grab her acoustic guitar and strapped it to her back. She went into the bedroom and walked to her side of the room, opening a drawer in her secret compartment; pulling out a piece of folded, lined paper that said "Cat's Song" on it. She went back to Elderly Acres and saw Nona comforting Cat. They both looked up, Cat looking back down to avoid eye contact with her. "I think I should let you two have some time to talk." Nona said and walked out. Cat didn't budge, she just stayed in her chair and looked down. Sam sighed and sat on the floor in front of her, making Cat turn her head to the left. "Listen, I know you're mad at me...but I have something for you." Sam unfolded the paper and started to play the melody on the guitar, humming a harmony. Cat's eyes widened slightly, but she stayed put. Sam started to sing the lyrics on the paper:
You're the only girl I'd ever want, the one who melts my heart
I want to count the ways I love you
but I don't know where to start.
Every time we're alone I get so tense
I didn't know my love for you would become this immense...
Cat stared at Sam and blushed deeply. Sam stopped singing when she saw Cat staring at her and looked up. "You...wrote a song for me?" Cat asked and smiled. "yeahhh, I was brainstorming it while you were at school." Sam said. Cat looked away and blushed. "I can't believe you'd take the time to make such a sweet song. Could you sing the rest, please?" Cat asked. Sam nodded and sang the rest of the song. "Oh Sam...that's so sweet." Cat crouched next to Sam and hugged her tight. "I'm sorry for getting mad at you..." Cat said sadly. "It's okay, I had no idea you wanted to marry me." Sam said. "Well...not until we were like, 30. But it's just that I thought if you want someone to stay with you forever, you have to marry them." Cat said and frowned. "That's not true, we can just live together. We don't need a piece of paper to tell us what our relationship is." Sam said and kissed Cat. "You're right but please don't totally shut out the idea. I really want to try." Cat said. "Alright, I won't neglect the idea." Said Sam. They both got up and walked out of the room, holding hands. Nona smiled and clasped her hands joyfully. "Oh wonderful! You two are so adorable." She said and they looked at each other, smiling lovingly. "You should stick around, we're having bingo night tonight." Nona said. "I think I'm gonna head home. I'm kinda tired." Sam said. Cat frowned and gave her a pleading look grabbing her hand. "Have fun, kitten. I need some sleep." Sam kissed her hand and went outside to ride her motorcycle back home. As soon as she got there, she changed into her boxers and a tank top. She reached under her bed and pulled out two bouquets of roses, taking the petals off and leaving a trail of them from the front door to the bedroom. After she was done with the trail, she went to the refrigerator to get the sparkling cider and some glasses from the cabinet, kicking the refrigerator shut. She put the cider bottle on the table, taking more petals and arranging them around the bottles and glasses in the shape of a heart. "She wants romance I'll give her some romance." Sam murmured.
