Chapter 29

Sam woke up and saw that Cat wasn't next to her in bed. She found it odd and went out to the front room to see if she was there. There was no sign of Cat in the entire apartment. Sam was about to text her when she saw a pink note on the table.

(Sam: I just started work today and I will be here every Saturday until I earn enough money for your surprise. I'll be back at seven. Love you! Xoxo -Cat)

Sam put the note down and smiled. "I wonder what my surprise is." She said and laid on the couch. Sam became bored and started to play Army Zombie Dinosaurs for a couple hours to beat her high score. "Ugh...so bored." Sam said. Sam fell asleep a few minutes later and Cat came home, humming a tune. "Honey I'm homeee!" Cat kissed Sam on the forehead and sat next to her. "You're back, I was sooo bored." Sam hugged her and saw that she had on an apron with a watermelon pattern and a frilly dress. "Where are you working?" Said Sam, staring at her. "Fruity fiesta." Cat said and smiled. "They have some nice uniforms." Sam said and touched the apron. "I know! They're great. And the employees are so nice to me." Said Cat. "That's great, but you don't have to get me anything." Sam said and kissed Cat. "No, I want to do this though. I feel like it would make you really happy." Cat kissed Sam back and counted her money in tips that she earned. "Wow! That's about a hundred bucks!" Cat shrieked happily and put it in the new pineapple bank. "That's great, kid. Now I really want to see the surprise if it costs so much." Sam said enthusiastically. "You'll see soon enough." Cat said. A few weeks had passed and Cat finally earned enough money. Cat checked the apartment to see where her girlfriend was before she started her plan. Sam was asleep in her bed and that's when Cat decided to call Carly. "Hello?" Carly answered. "Hey, Carly. This is Cat, Sam's friend. I just wanted to let you know that I paid for a ticket for you to come to LA for a week." Carly didn't say anything for a few seconds and Cat became concerned. "Carly?" She said and heard sniffling. "Thank you so much. You are so kind and we don't even know each other." Carly said and sniffled again. "I just want Sam to be happy, and you have been her friend for longer than I have. She deserves to see you again." Cat said and smiled. Carly kept thanking her and saying that she was very kind "I'll send you the ticket tonight so you can be here by next Monday." Cat said. "You are an angel. I'm so happy you did this for me." Carly said and Cat hung up when Sam came into the room. "Hey hon." Sam hugged Cat from behind and kissed her cheek. "Hey," Cat said and stroked Sam's hair. They cuddled and Sam went to the kitchen to eat a cold pizza. Cat quickly texted Carly

Cat: Sorry I had to hang up, Sam could've heard us and the surprise would have been ruined. :(

Carly: It's totally okay, I understand :) thanks again.

Cat: No problem. :D

Sam came back and Cat put her phone away. "So are you stressed about work yet?" Sam asked and Cat looked at her happily. "I quit after I made enough money to get your surprise." Cat said. "Oh you already got it! thanks, babe." Sam said and hugged her. They sat on the couch and cuddled the rest of the night.
