Chapter 12: The Broken Promise

GRAY'S POV

I woke up Lucy by 5 in the morning
I shook Lucy onto her side
"What?...Five more minutes Gray" Lucy said
"Could you just summon Cancer" I whispered to her ear
She was tickled by my breath, she tried swatting me away
"Alright alright" she said while fumbled for Cancers key while half asleep
"Open Gate of the Giant Crab:... Cancer" She said, then she fell back to her bed
"I'm here-" Cancer said before I could cover his mouth
"Shhh everybody is still asleep" Gray said
"How did she summon me?" Cancer looking at a sleeping Lucy
"I asked her, now can you please fix my hair back to normal" I whispered

After a while with some solutions and a little magic my hair was back to its normal color

"Done" Cancer said
"Thanks, you can go back now" I said

I went to the bathroom to take a shower, while I was in the shower I kept thinking over and over about what happened last night.

Then got I got out of the shower dressed up.
When I got out of the bathroom I saw that everyone is still asleep
When I was about to leave, I saw Erza shivering while sleeping
I then went up to her bed and threw a blanket over her body.
Erza then stopped shivering when I noticed the bags under her eyes.
She cried herself to sleep
I sighed heavily, knowing that I was the one who made her cry

I sat at her bed with her back facing me

"I'm sorry Erza, I broke my promise... I promised never to let you cry when we were kids but to think now I was the one making you cry... Erza your going to be sad for now, but only for a little while. You're going to get over it. You always do. You don't how much I thought about yesterday, how I wish to turn back time... to stop that kiss from happening, just to go back to how we used to be. How I wish I met you first before you met Jellal. How I hoped that my first relationship with you would be my last..." I mumbled

"I Love You Erza Scarlet"

"I'm Sorry Erza Scarlet"

I got up from her bed

I then left the inn, went to Onibus station and got onboard the the first train to Magnolia and never looked back

<After an hour I arrived at the train station in Magnolia and went straight to the guild>

I was the first one to arrive at the guild besides Mirajane who was cleaning up at the bar

"Oh! Good Morning Gray" Mira said with a smile

"Morning Mira" I said

"What can I get you?" Mira asked
"Breakfast please" I said

After a few minutes Mirajane placed a plate in front of me. It was Bacon & Scrambled eggs with a side of toast and Orange juice

"Thanks Mira" I said munching on a toast

"Lucy called ahead last night she said you'd all be staying there for a week, I'm kinda surprised to see you here" Mirajane said

"I left early on purpose* munch munch munch* I have to go do something important" I said while stuffing my mouth

"Oh OK then, why are you gloomy today? Does the food not taste good?" Mirajane said

"Oh no no the food is great. Eh don't worry about me Mira I'm fine." I said while finishing my meal

"Anyway is gramps in yet?" I asked

"No, Master is on a trip, meeting with the other Guild Masters, He isn't supposed to come back until the end of the week. Why do you ask?" She said

"Nothing in particular. Can you say to gramps when he comes back when he comes back that I'll be taking my annual leave?" I asked

"Sure, Uhm Gray mind if I ask. Why do you always leave this time of the year?" She asked

"Hm nobody's asked me that before, I'm not surprised that gramps hasn't let anyone know yet. But since you asked" I said while finishing of my drink

"I'm gonna go back home to visit my parents" I said cryptically

ERZA'S POV

I cried myself to sleep last night, good thing everyone was already asleep when I arrived.
I re-quipped into my pajamas, I then sat over my bed and looked at Gray sleeping from the other side of the room between us where Wendy with Carla, Lucy, and Natsu with Happy, with Wendy being the closest to me.
I thought to myself while looking over at Gray
'Is this where were going to leave things between us' I thought
I then laid down my bed and kept replaying the words Gray said by the balcony
Just thinking about the words that he said made me cry, I tried my best not to disturb the others while I cried the rest of the night.

<The next morning>

I woke up to Gray putting a blanket over me, but I pretended to be asleep.
I saw that he was back to his old appearance no ink on his face, his hair now back to raven.
I was sleeping on my side, he then sat where my back was facing. I heard him whispering under his breath, just enough for me to hear.

"I'm sorry Erza, I broke my promise... I promised never to let you cry when we were kids but to think now I was the one making you cry... Erza your going to be sad for now, but only for a little while. You're going to get over it. You always do. You don't how much I thought about yesterday, how I wish to turn back time... to stop that kiss from happening, just to go back to how we used to be. How I wish I met you first before you met Jellal. How I hoped that my first relationship with you would be my last..." Gray mumbled

'I didn't now you made that promise' I thought

"I Love You Erza Scarlet" He said
My heart started pounding heavily
"I'm Sorry Erza Scarlet" He said

He then stood up from my bed and walked to the door then stopped and looked over at me, while I was still pretending to be asleep

I thought he was sad but instead I saw him with a soft smile.

He then walked out and closed the door

"I'm Sorry... I Love You Too Gray Fullbuster" I whispered under my breath

Tears then started falling down to my cheek while I smiled. Then I finally went back to sleep
