Chapter 56: Reception

GRAY'S POV

"Good job on the planning" I whispered into Erza's ear as we had our first dance as husband and wife

"Thanks. You played your part as the groom very well" Erza whispered back

"I could have helped more with the wedding you know" I said

"I wanted it to be the perfect wedding... So No. You might have screwed it up" She said bluntly

"You're honestly brutal." I said

"You picked the date didn't you?" She giggled

"Yeah... I guess." I sighed

"I must say, you're surprisingly light on your feet" She said as we danced

"I guess you don't know everything about me." I smirked

"Oh... I know... Especially that dance battle you had with Cancer. Fufufu" She giggled

"I'm going to kill that crab" I cursed

After a while the music in the guild hall died down quite a bit, everyone was dancing slowly with their partners. I can't focus on anyone else, but Erza.

Erza pulled me close to her, she was practically breathing on my neck.

"Aren't you a bit too close?" I whispered

"No. I just want to be close to you." She whispered back

"Hey, Am I dreaming?" I asked

"I assure you this is real... even if it were a dream, I don't ever want to wake up" Erza said as she looked me in the eye

"Do really love me that much?" I asked

"Yes, yes I do." She clarified

"I'm a bit worried... aren't we getting a bit dependent on each other?" I asked

"It's fine. I'm not afraid to admit it, but... You are my strength and my weakness." She said proudly

"Why ask all these questions?" Erza got curious

"You've changed, Erza" I said simply

"Is there a problem?" She raised a brow

"No. Not at all. It's just like you changed for the better" I said as I twirled her

"How did I change?" She asked

"You're a lot less strict, you've been more open to not just me, but everybody. You are no longer the girl that hides beneath her armor" I explained

"I suppose I have you to thank for that" She closed up on me

"I didn't do very much, it was all you" I said

"You don't know how much love, can change a person. And you're no exception to that rule" She said

"How?" I asked

"You haven't been fighting with Natsu, you take things a lot more seriously now. And you continue to improve yourself as an individual" She explained

"Oh you... You're making me blush" I joked

She playfully punched me for that remark

"All I'm saying is... We make each other better. That is the best thing you could have in a loving relationship" She clarified
