"I know they're not dead! They can't be!" Lily Evans cried, running around frantically, looking for her friends.

James Potter blinked back tears as he scanned the Great Hall that was crowded with the injured and dead, hoping to glimpse them. So many were dead, but they found many of their friends. Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and Lily Evans. Peter Pettigrew was dead, but it as just as well, because they found out he had been planning to defect to the Dark side and was a traitor. But he couldn't find Hermione Smith, and Draco Johnson.

This was what war did. It tore you apart from your friends and family, and left you broken. In the midst of all of the confusion, a boy approached them. He looked to be maybe a 6th year.

"Excuse me, but I heard you calling for two people, a boy and girl. By any chance, does the girl have bushy brown hair, and the boy have pale blond hair?" the boy asked, looking startled when Lily gave a shriek.

"Yes! That's Hermione and Draco! Where did you see them?" Lily asked, trying to be positive. But her face immediately fell as she saw the boy shift uneasily.

"When I saw them, they were lying on the ground in the Forbidden Forest, and then...well, then they just disappeared" the boy explained.

"That's not possible, people can't just disappear, unless someone Disapparates with them, but no one was there, right?" James asked.

"There was a golden light, and then they were gone, I don't think it was Disapparation. I'm sorry that I couldn't help more" the boy said, and then walked away. James guessed that he didn't have time to grieve over everyone. There were too many people with losses, and then the word sorry loses it's meaning when it's repeated over and over again.

"Lils. We need to help tend for the wounded. C'mon," Sirius said solemnly.

"The boy said that he found them in the Forbidden Forest! Maybe that means that Hermione and Draco defeated You Know Who! He was last seen there as well! Maybe..." her voice suddenly broke. "Maybe he was the one who killed them"

Dumbledore suddenly strode up to them. The man had an uncanny way of appearing whenever he was needed.

"Yes, Mrs. Evans, you appear to be correct. Mrs. Smith and Mr. Johnson did defeat Voldemort...and died because of the effort" Something flashed across Dumbledore's face, like he was in pain, but not only because of so many departed.

Lily whimpered, and Remus and Sirius turned their heads away.

"I hope... I hope they're happy wherever they are," Lily whispered.

James sighed. "Me too." He took Lily's hand.

"We should tell everyone about what they did. So we can honor them properly," Remus spoke up, the first time in ages after seeing Fenir Greyback.

James nodded slightly, and cast a Sonorous on his voice. Everyone looked at him startled, not thinking he would actually go through on it.

"Attention, everyone. We've gone through great losses, but don't let it be said it was for nothing. We'd like to talk about the people who, in the end, defeated Voldemort. We don't know how, but they did, and their names are Hermione Smith and Draco Johnson. They were transfer students, but they've become apart of Hogwarts naturally, and even going so far as to save it. We want to honor them, as well as we want to honor the rest of the dead, and the living. Thank you. You've done a great deed to the world"

A murmur went up from the crowd, and James could guess what they were thinking. They'd never heard of Hermione and Draco before, and how did they defeat Voldemort? But they slowly went back to mourning.
