Hermione's POV
Draco and Hermione surfaced from the Pensieve, both of the brooding and slightly shocked.
"I don't understand," Hermione said, frustrated. "Why would they give Arthur the job?"
"He's exceedingly loyal," Draco said quietly. "He would do anything for the Ministry."
Hermione shut her eyes. "Well, at least we know how to reverse spells now."
"We can start as soon as we get back to Hogwarts," Draco said, determinedly.
Hermione took one more glance at the Pensieve. "Not now, though. Let's enjoy Christmas."
Draco smirked. "Wait till you see what I got you."
"It can't beat my gift," Hermione replied, teasing.
"Let's bet. Ten Galleons to the one who gave a better gift," Draco said cockily.
"You're going to lose," Hermione paused at the door of her room. "I think."
Draco shook his head. "Night, Mia."
Hermione smiled. "Good night, Draco."
oOo
"Master says for pretty girl wake up! Christmas is happening!" An excited, high-pitched voice squealed.
Hermione opened her eyes to see an over-excited, tiny house elf in red and green clothing jumping on her bed.
"Good morning," she greeted the house elf, smiling. "Are Draco and his mother already downstairs?"
"Yes, Missus! Come immediately!" The house elf disappeared with a crack.
Hermione took a quick shower and threw on a red Gryffindor sweatshirt and black leggings, trying to get into the spirit. She still couldn't erase the memories of everything she had seen the day before, but she was determined to try, even just for a little bit.
"Good morning," Hermione called to Narcissa, who was in the sitting room with a huge book.
"Merry Christmas. Draco's just around the corner, dear," Narcissa warmly smiled at Hermione.
Hermione nodded her thanks and rounded the corner to see Draco, in a green sweatshirt; the exact same color as Slytherin's house colors.
"Look at you," Hermione came up to him, wrapping her arms around him. "Dressed in Slytherin colors."
"And you, as Gryffindor as usual," Draco returned the hug.
"You've been a Gryffindor longer than you've been a Slytherin," Hermione pointed out, leaning in for a kiss.
Before their lips could touch, a loud voice interrupted them. "Bloody Merlin, is this what I'll have to deal with today? I did not just leave my girlfriend for this."
"Harry!" Hermione whirled around. "Merry Christmas!" She hugged Harry.
"Did you say girlfriend?" Draco raised an eyebrow.
Harry turned red. "Didn't I tell you?"
Hermione sat down on a couch. "Harry, did you ask Ginny out?"
Harry blushed even more. "Maybe?"
"And she said yes?" Draco said dubiously.
"I explained everything to her during the ball," Harry mumbled. "And then while she was just digesting it all, I - well, I - I might've just - um, asked her to be my girlfriend because I fancied her a lot - and, uh, in all time periods."
