"Alexander," Magnus purred into his boyfriend's ear. "I have a surprise for you."

"I don't care unless it's my bow." Alec rolled over on the couch that he had slept on all night so that he was facing away from Magnus. The problem was that the couch itself smelled like Magnus. Alec breathed in deeply.

Magnus smiled when he heard Alec inhale. Izzy had been right; spraying his cologne on the couch when Alec went to the bathroom last night had been a great idea. He would have to remember that for the next time.

"Alexander, you'll get a new bow." Magnus touched Alec's bare shoulder and felt a tinge in his heart when Alec shook him off.

"I don't care about a new bow. That one was mine. It was important." Alec said and Magnus tried to understand but he honestly didn't have attachments to things like that.

"And I'm sorry, but don't I get any credit for saving your life?" Magnus prompted, remembering the day before when he walked in on Alec getting attacked by multiple demons. He hadn't thought; just acted. He grabbed the first thing he could from Alec's belt which just happened to be his bow and stabbed the demon behind them. It had been fine then but then he threw it at another demon and it hit the wall next to him. Magnus threw a fireball and the bow along with the demon went up in flame.

"I had it under control." Alec finally sat up and looked at Magnus. "That bow was special."

"Because it was signed by the Arrow? Yeah, I'm sorry for your fangirl heart." Magnus rolled his eyes.

"I don't care about that!" Alec flung his arms up in the air, "well maybe a little bit. He is hot and a great archer... Stephen Amell."

"Great! Why don't you date him?" Magnus threw his arms up too.

"I don't want to. But, maybe he'd understand." Alec cocked an eyebrow at Magnus in a challenge.

"Or maybe I could, you know, if you could take a second to explain. I want to understand." Magnus took Alec's hand between both of his.

"Fine. It was a gift from my parents." Alec shrugged.

"And you're not happy to see it destroyed?" Magnus laughed trying to lighten the mood.

"See? You don't get it." Alec pulled away again.

"No, wait. I'm sorry. Continue."

"Fine. It's one of the only things they've given me and it's the only thing I have left that proved they were proud of me once. Now, all I have is their disappointment. That bow was a reminder that at one time in my life my parents actually loved me." Alec's heart hurt as he said what he had been holding in for years.

"Alexander," Magnus wrapped his arms around him. "I am so sorry. I assure you, you're much too good for those people."

"I'm sorry for getting mad at you." Alec said against Magnus's chest.

"It's fine, but next time just tell me. I really don't like sleeping without you." Magnus rubbed Alec's back.

"I don't either." Alec pulled back enough so he could look up at Magnus's yellow eyes. Magnus kissed him then hugged him again.

"Oh, so I do have a surprise for you still and once again I'm sorry that it's not a bow. But, I imagine you'll still like it." Magnus broke the comfortable silence.

"You didn't have to get me anything." Alec smiled.

"But, I did. Now close your eyes darling." Magnus hopped up. "And no peeking!"

Alec covered his eyes and stuck out his tongue.

"Careful or that tongue of yours might get bitten." Magnus snapped his teeth together before running down the hall to their bedroom where the surprise was.

"Maybe I'd like that." Alec called after him.

"We both know you do." Magnus chuckled as he entered the family room again. "Ready?"

"Yes." Alec opened his eyes and his jaw dropped. "He's so cute!"

Magnus dropped the puppy into Alec's outstretched hands and he immediately stood up to lick Alec's face.

"His name is Mr. Glitter." Magnus sat next to Alec and petted the puppy.

"I love him." Alec kissed the puppy's little head. "But, we're changing the name."

"Nope." Magnus showed Alec the collar with the name on it.

"Yes. I'm thinking something tough, manly." Alec said in a baby voice to the puppy. "Do you like that? Yes, you do."

"Mr. Glitter is manly, hence the mister part of it." Magnus pulled a face.

"If it's manly you don't need a mister for them to know it's a boy." Alec pointed out.

"Well too late to change it."

"Mag-" Magnus cut off Alec's argument by giving him an earth-shattering kiss.

"Cheater." Alec pouted minutes later after they had broken apart and Mr. Glitter barked at them playfully.

"Warlocks never play fair darling." Magnus winked.

A/N Hope you liked it! Now I really want a puppy so I can name him Mr. Glitter! haha
