Chapter 25: Visions in Twilight

The battle between the group against Vert, and the brainwashed Nepgear, was underway. Terra was paired up with Plutia, with Noire and Neptune against Nepgear. Vert forged her spear in hand, and made the first move "I think it's only fair the lady goes first"

"You wish, where are you looking?" said Plutia who came in and met her head on. Their sword and spear clashed, sparks flying as they deflected each other. With that Vert came in, swinging her spear in rather expert precision which Plutia evaded and deflected before Vert flipped forward and kicked at Plutia, and although she blocked as was still sent backwards.

Terra was next to come in, swinging his sword which Vert simple deflected away before jumping and flying away "Now, now Terra...you simply can fight swinging your blade" Vert twirled and spun her spear effortlessly "A weapon is no good if you can't use it. Observe" with thrusts and twirls, Vert made it difficult for Terra to guard, before knocking him off-balance and striking him with a broad swing.

Terra was knocked back, but he scraped along the floor stopped by Plutia with a hand to his back "Thanks" he said to her as Plutia stepped to his side

"It seems Verty...might give us a hard time" said Plutia "She's...very good at fighting to say she's using a stick"

"The experience shows that's for sure, I couldn't see any openings in her attacks" Vert gestured them forward "Let's just keeping going as we are, we might be able to see a weak point"

"Gladly...since I still have much frustration to still vent out"

For Neptune and Noire, they were having a somewhat easier time against Nepgear but only to a small degree. Nepgear was quite balanced in her fighting style, with long range beam attacks from her hybrid sword and blaster. Noire was squaring off against Nepgear, who was blocking her attacks before striking her away "Nepgear is better than she looks" said Noire

"I think it's more...since she's a boss in this scenario" said Neptune "Her levels got boosted by a few" Nepgear aimed her blaster

"Multiple beam Launcher" a giant blue beam came out of her blaster, forcing them to dodge. Noire darted to the left, while Neptune rose up.

As she did, Nepgear rose to meet her with blade in hand "I need to give Nep Jnr more credit I think" Neptune said to her caught off-guard

"Now take this" Nepgear dealt Neptune a series of blows "Formula Edge!" before swiping her away to the ground with a broad swing. Nepgear then flew right down on Noire, preparing a vertical downward swing

"Meh...child's play" Noire jumped back but as Nepgear landed, she spun her blade round for an upwards swing

"Slash Wave!" a tall vertical wave of yellow zipped across the ground at Noire, who unable to defend was knocked backwards off her feet.

Noire picked herself up, as Neptune went to Noire's side "I think you're right Neptune. We may need to give this one more credit" said Noire stood up

"Nep Jnr's surprisingly strong when she's brainwashed" said Neptune "Worth noting for enemy's sake"

"I will...defeat you both" said Nepgear almost forcibly "To help...my sister"

"Neptune I know you don't want to hurt her, but you may have to push yourself" said Noire "then again it seems like Terra and Plutia aren't having much better luck"
